This was the moment we had been waiting all these weeks for. An actual chance to put our case to a real person. My appointment was at 0830 and I intended to be half hour early. Unfortunately turning the wrong way out of Bond Street tube put it right back on time. I carried a new folder of evidence of our on going relationship plus the usual Birth, Police and vaccination records. A second folder detailing the evidence of support and the a third containing originals of everything we had sent in at the beginning. There are strict security instructions when you receive your appoitment letter so to avoid any confusion or delays I carried the lot in "fold-away" bag. Leaving all keys, phone, ipods at home. If you haven't got the option to do this there is a pharmacy nearby which provides a storing facility for you valubles. So it felt like a long day. I was on Bond Street by 7:30 so went to Starbucks and bought a coffee, tasted awful the milk was burnt, couldn't have drunk it anyway for the nervousness I felt.
Surreal David Lynch moment as 20 or so police horses were exercised down bond street.
I arrived at the USE by 8am for my 9am interview. There was already quite a line. It was a cold brisk morning in London, whilst lined up outside there was a few snow flakes.
Took about 35 mins to get inside. I was issued a 1000 number (1052) which I questioned (thanks VJers) then I was issued a 5000 number (5009). When I sat down numbers 5005 through to myself were on the board. (Before I left it ha only risen to 5016)
Then sat and waited over 2 hours for my first call up. There was a K family (K3 & K2) at the counters and one of the K2 children ended up fainting and then having an epileptic seizure. This meant there were no 5000 numbers being proc... read complete review

My appointment letter said 9am, but figuring I could hang around outside and read, I got to the London embassy at about 7:20 AM. There was already a queue outside, maybe 15 people were there already. I was outside for maybe 15 minutes - not long at all. I took my belt off for security, had my big folder of documents x-rayed, and was inside by about 7:40. My ticket number was 5001 - considering that immigrant visa applicants are numbered from 5000, I'd done exceptionally well.
At about 8:20, I was called up to window 14. I showed the guy (who was English) my passport, then I was sent to the cashier, where I paid my $131 in cash. I returned to window 14, where I handed in my birth certificate, my passport photos, my police certificate, and the I-134 forms (plus all my photocopies). I also signed my two DS-156 forms that I'd mailed in January. My fingerprints were scanned, and I was sent back into the hall, to await my actual interview.

Arrived at the Embassy 1hr early due to the snow wanted to make sure i got there Ok.
Was a little concerned that i was No: 5013 and they were calling No:1028 when i walked in!
Saw the first guy an hour after my appointment time, he took all my certificates and I-129F, i told him i had a co-sponsor but he didn't want that info. Gave me my x-rays back and told me to go to window 12 to pay and then come back. He checked he had all paperwork he needed. Gave me the pink courier slip to complete and told me to go back into the waiting room until i was called again.
Another 1hr wait and i was called through again. i was given all the originals of my certificates back.
The guy asked how we'd met, what Rob's job was, what the plans were for the wedding.
He wrote out a blue slip advising we needed a co-sponsor and started to tell me what i needed to do to get it back in...i laughed and told him 'here's one we produced earlier'. Checked it and all... read complete review

I arrived at the Embassy at 8.15am. As I approached the building a felt a lump in my throat and thought I might well up! This day has been a long time coming. Having expected to see masses of people I was surprised to see only a handful of people standing in line, I’m guessing 12 or so. I approached one of the guards and showed them my appointment letter and passport. My appointment was at 9am, however, I was in the building and sat on a chair at 8.20.
It’s exactly how others have described before, like Argos or the post office – “cashier number 5 please!” I didn’t take a book. How could anyone sit and concentrate! They are calling numbers constantly and as the morning goes on, in no particular order either, so you have to be sharp.
I was called within half an hour of being there. Went to the window, handed over documents:
