I had an 8am appointment and so was one of the first to enter the embassy at about 7:45am and was issued the 4th Immigrant number for the day. I was sat in the waiting room for about ah hour before being called up for the pre-interview and submit any additional documents (I didnt have any extra to submit so they just took my passport and interview letter) I was asked a few very basic questions at this time about my documents to make sure they were all there which took about 10/15 mins, and then was sent to sit back down to wait for my interview. The wait time to be seen for my actual interview after that was about an hour and a half, the consulate officer was very nice and asked me a few questions about our relationship and then approved my application and sent me off to pay for the courier to get my passport back. All in all I was in the embassy for about 3 hours total.

My fiance attended his KI Interview on October 21, 2009. He stayed overnight at the Marble Arch Hotel, so he wouldn't have to worry about catching the train to arrive at 7:30am. He arrived at the embassy after dropping his things off at Gould's Pharmacy.
During the security scan, the officer found something metallic that caught his attention. It was one of those Hallmark cards with the music chip in it. Leave that sort of evidence at home!
Ian handed his paperwork to the lady at the counter who ensured everything was there, then handed him a pink slip. While he waited for his number to be called, he paid the courier, which he later realised was a bit out of order.
When his number was called, he went to talk to the CO. Ian informed him that he mistakenly paid the courier already, and verified that was not a problem (he said "no", but you can do it in the opposite order, just to be safe) ... read complete review

My husband was very nervous for his interview after going through all of the security. He was so sure he was going to be drilled with 8 million questions and get someone who disliked him!! He was asked 4 questions by one person...then went back up when he was called and answered a few more questions with a different person. Simple, easy questions and he was congratulated with a smile about his visa being approved He says he spent about 10 minutes between the two people (and of course maybe an hour of waiting time?) and then it was all over, he paid the fee for the mailing of the visa package to him, and was walking back out the door less than 2 hours after he entered. He kind of was in shock, as he expected it to be a long drawn out day of stress. LOL

This was the second visit to the london US Embassy for me, the first time around it was for my K1 visa interview, this was a very bad experience for me personally as I had an interview with a young woman around 24 with an obvious chip on her shoulder, both my Fiancee (at the time) and myself had both been married before a couple of times, this woman made comments about how this must be true love as we have been married several times between us, she tried to upset me and get a angry reaction, which I did not respond to, she was very abrupt and gave me a refusal notice with a smile.
So you can imagine my anguish when I had to go back to the Embassy after getting married and applying for a K3 visa, our visa now requires a waiver of extreme hardship to overcome the 2 points that they have against me, a crime of moral turpitude and for not ticking the box on the visa waiver form on my visits to the USA now they have added immigration fraud... So I went armed with a bag loaded... read complete review

For anyone attending a visa interview in London, my 1st piece of advice would be - go to the US EMBASSY LONDON website and watch their YouTube information video 'Attending a Non-Immigrant Visa Interview'. This will give you a very good idea what to expect, and I strongly urge you all to do this. The video can be found here - http://www.usembassy.org.uk/youtube/index.html. Otherwise here's my personal account of what happened on my own Interview day...
I was a little anxious to be honest and had been for a couple of days running up to the big day. My interview appointment was scheduled for 8am, and after a sleepless night and a very early wake up, I arrived at the London Embassy in Grosvenor Square just after 7am. It was still dark... luckily I'd missed the earlier rain and it was dry - but do make sure you bring a small umbrella or coat as you will be waiting outside for a while.
There are 2 qu... read complete review
