I had my interview on 15th August and needless to say, it's finally sinking in that we were approved. Anyway, here goes:
The day started off as any other interview. Turned up on time, left my mobile phone at Gould's and headed to the embassy. It looks like Argos, only with humans instead of boxes. Anyway, after about 2 hours, I was called to hand my papers in at the first window. The guy was ever so pleasant..but that's as far as the niceness of the embassy employees goes. I had what seemed like another 2 hours wait before I was called up again. The CO turned up with my file in one hand and a 221g form in another. My heart sank at that point and I almost gave up because as I put away the papers she gave back, I could see her writing on the form. She questioned me about my citizenship in UK, the discrepancy in my name. This was expected so I calmed down a little and just explained everything to her. At this point, i looked at what she had written on the blue 221g form and... read complete review

At 7:30 I arrived at the embassy, showed my interview letter to the security staff and he checked my name on the list. He asked me to put my belt and watch in my carry case and then directed me to the second queue. There, I showed the security guard my passport and interview letter, he gave me the ok and sent me off to x-ray. During the x-ray there was a little panic when an alarm bleeped. The guards swabbed our stuff, checked it with their instruments and gave us the all clear. I went into the main building, at reception handed over the appointment letter and the receptionist put some labels on it and told me to go through the doors and wait for my number to be called.
At7:55, I arrived in the waiting area, made myself comfortable and took out a book to read.
At 8:00 they began calling numbers for petitioners to attend a numbered desk.
At 8:45 my number was called so I went to the desk and was greeted by a cheerful fellow. He took ... read complete review

Well I had my interview today and i'm still shaking. They asked me no questions about our relationship. We were not able to supply evidence of my husband's second marriage and divorce except for a statement from Alaska that they had no record of either event. The officer commented that this was strange and indeed it is, but nevertheless she then went on to the financial stuff. I could actually see the blue refusal slip with my name on it beside our papers and my heart was sinking fast. My husband does not file taxes as he is retired and his income is low. We supplied 1099s and a written explanation as to why he does not file and she said that i would need a joint sponsor. She gave me back my passport and i asked her 'What about my assets?'. I had supplied up to date bank staements with my name on them. She said that they did not seem to belong to me and i said 'really?' She looked again and went away. She then asked me for my passport back and i asked her if everything was ok. She said ... read complete review

Our K-1 visa interview went easy! We were sooo incredibly nervous that Grahm would have trouble. He has been denied entry to the usa, and denied a B2 visa, but that didnt matter.
His interview was at 9 am. He dropped his stuff off at Goulds Pharmacy, got right in, picked a number and had to wait ages. His number finally got called and he went up the the guy behind the counter asked for his police certificate, birth certificate, passport and for his paperwork from when he was denied entry to the usa. He asked to see my co sponsor paperwork, so Graham gave him the whole pack (i.e.letter from employer, paystubs, tax info etc), but the guy didnt even need it - all he looked at was the first page saw my profession and wrote it down and that was it. Two minutes later he got called up to another window (not a room) and a nice American lady asked: What was his fiancee's name (me), what my birthday was, and when the wedding was. He answered all and she said ok everything lo... read complete review

I got to the embassy earlier than planned, basically was there at around 7.10 but was aiming for 7.30. The queue was short at that time, about 7 people maybe, but it started filling up really fast afterwards. We were let in by 7.30am.
It all went quite quickly, a lot of non-immigrant applicants mostly and only a couple of intending immigrants were there. After about half an hour I got called up to the first window and a woman scanned my fingerprints, gave me my x-ray cd, asked for my birth certificate, 2 passport photos, police certificate and affadavit. She only asked for one piece of evidence for the affadavit (though I gave her 2 anyway, just incase). She asked me when I was hoping to fly out there. She was quick, casual and polite and gave me the courier slip and told me to go wait for the next part.
I must have waited about 20 minutes or so before being called up to the interview window. I was greeted by a very friendly blonde American woman who asked... read complete review
