OK....( just to mention, I have been to the embassy numerous occasions, so I had some idea of what to expect )
My appointment time was at 9.30am, but I got a TAXI and arrived their around 8.45am...so I thought Hey, why not be early......maybe I'll be seen early and get in and out...........HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...WRONG
So I entered the embassy and got my ticket, which began with a the letter I, followed by 3 digits.Pretty much 85% of the people in their had numbers which began with the letter N..... so I thought this could take a while.
I wasn't seen until 10.50am.....which at that point I was feeling super tired from having been up since 5am.
So I went to the first window...the guy was pretty cool, he joked with me about my numerous J-1 visas in my passport. I handed over my birth certificate, police check, 2 passport photos, 1 copy of the original I-134, with a letter from my Fiance's work, and had my fin... read complete review

I was well prepared having spent months, as most K1 applicants do, going over every possible aspect of my application with relentless trepidation. I couldn't help but feel like none of this process would ever truly come to fruition- but time passes and things happen.
Anyway- I got to the embassy at twenty past seven, my interview was at 8am. I queued up with about twenty other people, things fired up at about quarter to eight and from that point on the queue just remained a steady length with people continually drifting up and security letting a certain number of people in. In my bag I had my folder, my house keys(with no key fob)a book, and a pen. I highly recommend bringing a pen.
Getting into the embassy was pleasant and in no way problematic, the security men might've been gruff but it didn't rile me, even when he barked 'against the wall until I say so! I know you can all hear me!' I was just pleased to have gotten to this point with no travel delays... read complete review

My interview was at 9.30am and I think I arrived to queue up at about 8:15. The queue moved quickly and after having my passport and appointment letter checked I was sent through security. They were sending people through in groups of four, but it all moved pretty quickly and I think I was in the embassy just after 9am. You show your app letter and passport to a person at the front desk who they gives you your number, I was I92..something so although I thought I was early, it turns out there were a few people even earlier!
Then the wait began...I had been to the embassy a couple times before so was aware of how it all works. It's a case of check the screens and wait for your number to be called. For the most part numbers are called in order, however the confusing thing is that there are 2 parts to the process (handing over the paperwork and the actual 'interview') which makes it seem like the nunbers are being called randomly. Anyway after about 2 and a half hours I was ... read complete review

Arrived at the embassy at 7 30 am. Big queue but moved fairly quickly. Required to show appointment letter and passport. Then into security. Do not bring mobile phone, they won't let you in.
Approached reception and gave letter and receipt of MRV fee and was given a number. You are then sent to the waiting area. After 10 mins my number was called. The first IO was an Eastern European man. Very friendly and efficient. Asked for receipt, letter, I 864, 3 passport photos and passport. He than asked a few questions about immigration history. He handed back my chest xray cd, asked how we met and then sent me to wait for next interview.
After 10 more mins , I was called up again. This was a very sweet lady. She asked to raise right hand and declare I was telling the truth. Asked where we met again, what my fiance did for a living and when we planned to get married. Then she said we were approved. Off I went to pay for delivery. Whole thing took 2 hours.
