arrived at the embassy after finding goulds pharmacy at around 9.30. passed through security and was given my number, I923. sat down and began going over all my documents etc and so began the wait. N numbers are called every 20 seconds or so, I numbers are very rare. after about an hour i was called to window 1 where i was greeted by no one. after looking around confused (id been up since 4am, i imagine i looked a state) a small asian lady took my mrv receipt and police cert, my copies of details and gave me the pink form to fill out for the courier. took a seat and another hour passed. was eventually called to window 15 where a very friendly american lady was waiting. i was asked to raise my right hand a swear an oath. after commenting on how big our original evidence packet was (we went over board but it paid off haha) she asked me these questions.

Well, I can honestly say that\'s the hardest thing I\'ve ever gone through, got to London at 5.30am, found somewhere to park (longer than 4 hours but cost me 20 pounds) at 6.30am, got to embassy at 6.45am, first in line! A guy on the gate was really pissy with me, clearly not a morning person, but the cop with the glock, taser and the MP5 was really nice.
At 7am there was about 10 people behind me, the guy third in line told me I can\'t have anything electronic including my car key, so the woman behind me kept my place as me and another guy took everyone\'s keys to the local pharmacy who holds electrical items for a tenner.
They opened the embassy at 7.30am, they checked my receipts, appointment letters and passports then pointed me to another line. A German man came out and inspected my papers again, all bags were put through a scanner (including the kids backpacks with treats in it) and we walked through an x-ray, my daughter set it off, don\'t know why,... read complete review

Arrived at 8.50am for 9.00am interview (earliest running train I could get)
4 people waiting in line outside.
Got inside to a full waiting room.
Waited 2.5 hours for my number to be called.
When I was called to the first window (10.30am) a British lady scanned my fingerprints and (while "nonchalantly" asking me a few questions and chatting) asked me for the following documents:
My Passport
2 x US sized passport pics
Birth Certificate + copy
Police Certificate + copy
I-134
all Affidavit of Support documents (in our case it was pay slips, tax transcripts, bank statements and a hand-written affidavit)
The lady then handed me a pink slip to fill-out for the DX Secure return of my passport and asked to wait for my number to be called again.
5 minutes later my number was called again to a different window.

My interview was scheduled for 8:30 in the morning but that didn't really mean anything once through the doors. I arrived at the Embassy 7:50,there were already about 10 people queuing. I showed a women my passport and appointment letter and she asked if I had any electronics on me, it was surprising how many people were turned away because of this!! We went in by 4s into a small building where our belongings were checked,it was just like being at the airport. They were nice friendly guys and I didn't find it at all intimidating like some people have. We were cleared to enter the Embassy then. It took about 10 minutes in all,so not at all like I was expecting.
When in the embassy people had to que at a desk where another women checked appointment letters and passports. Different visas were given different ticket numbers, I already knew that the K visas were given I numbers (from visa journey!!) The women stuck my ticket on to my letter, I memorised it I907!! Here is my fiance's summary:
"Well, in the end, after hours of waiting for a damn number to be called it was basically a breeze. I thought I had forgotten to bring my receipt for payment of the fee, so there was 5 minutes seeing if that could be found on the system... turned out it could... then when he started on the rest of it he found the two receipts I'd printed off anyway, d'oh! Then they make you sit down and wait another while before making you swear or affirm you're not lying through your teeth on the form and won't bald-faced lie to them now, after which she basically just asked how we met, did she meet my parents, are they coming to the wedding, when do I fly. That was it. :-)"
Apparently there was quite a long queue outside and he didn't get in until five til 10:00, then it was about Noon when his number was first called. Aside from the waiting I gather it was relatively painless. :-D
