I had read all the reviews on Visa Journey and so I knew exactly what to expect - and was able to advise the poor souls standing in the queue with their mobile phones and car keys.
They started letting us in at 7.30 and I was the third person through the door. The first numbers were called up at 8am and soon after that I was called up for my documents to be checked. I was then sent back to the seating area to wait to be called again. As others have said, they call lots of N numbers for each I number (Non-Immigrant and Immigrant I guess), but I didn't have to wait too long and in fact I was out by 9am.
In the interview I was asked the date of my marriage and when Trevor naturalized and the CO asked me about my arrival in the US in January when I had to go through secondary processing and was advised that that was the last time they would let me in under the VWP. But that was it.

It went fine, long waiting, but the interview itself was like 5 minutes tops! My opinion was it could have been done over the phone and saved an expensive trip to London, but oh well! It's done, approved and visas in hand now! So it's worth it!! javascript:emoticon(' ')

The worst part of the interview was that we had to wait in the rain outside the embassy! Besides that it was easy peasy.
Luckily I (the US citizen) am in the UK with my fiance so I got to attend the interview with him. I prepared loads and had copies of everything we've submitted so far and further evidence of our relationship plus tons of bank docs, etc. In the end all they needed from us was his original birth certificate and police certificate plus the I-134.
We got to the embassy at 8am for a 9am interview and waited in line for around 20 minutes. Once we got into the embassy and were issued a number, we waited for about 10 minutes before they called us up the first time. That's when we handed in paperwork. As I've heard before on here, the person behind the window was British and seemed cold but if you just talk to them and treat them nicely and light-heartedly they start talking and laughing with you.
Then we sat back down and I ... read complete review
