Had my interview yesterday. Since I'd been for a student visa in the past I knew what it was all about and knew that it wasn't anything like as stressful as some people like to make out. Gould's pharmacy are on to a good thing, £3 to store your phone and even have computers in there for people who need to fill out last minute embassy forms...not exactly a pharmacy then...
It started bucketing down as I queued up so bring an umbrella or you'll be handing a very soggy interview letter to the (surprisngly) cheerful guy on the gate. You can take a bottle of water in, security just make you drink some before sending you in. I was inside by 8:15 for a 9:00 appointment. Had to wait quite a long time, 'I' numbers are called up veeery slowly compared to 'N'. Eventually got called up to the first window for the paperwork side of things. A rather seemingly-grumpy oriental lady took my forms but my advice here is just to talk to them. We were soon chatting like old friends and she told me ... read complete review

Called me at 12:05p (UK) to tell me, "We're approved!" She arrived by 0830 for the 0900 appointment and was finished by 1030. She spent this past week compiling all kinds of "proof" that they didn't even look at. The only question asked was, "When do you plan to leave the UK?" The issue of the NOA2 expiring on 10/17/2011 didn't even come up. So we wasted time stressing over that, as well. The almost had us wasting time (& money) getting an extension letter notarized and FedEx'ed over there to answer the expiration. I can't give a "5" because of this. Money was wasted CALLING (you're charged per minute to call the Consulate in UK) them to ask about it and they didn't really give accurate assistance.

I arived way too early 6:40 am because I just didn't want to be late as it was really important to us. When I got there there was one other person already waiting off to the side, I stood their for a while then decided I'm already here so everything will be fine so I decided to get a coffe and a sandwich from a really nice cafe, just down the road, it was good but a little exspensive, but it made me fell a lot better I rejoined the cue which was now about 10 people in front of me once I had had my refreshments then a few people joined the cue behind me but not many, then at about 7:30 they started checking for your intrveiw letter and passport and letting people in, they had 2 passport and interveiw letter check points. I went through the airport style security check and round the side of the building and into the US visa entery. the lady then checked my interview letter and passport and attached a bunch of stickers to it on the sticker was my "ticket number" so I s... read complete review

My K1 interview was at 8am on October 19th. I live in London so I drove up to the West End, parking in the Adeline Street NCP (for £24) at 6:50am, and walking to the Embassy, arriving at 7:15am. By 7:15am there were already 22 people in line! My hopes of grabbing that sought after I-901 ticket and being seen first were dashed! They guys managing the first line started checking paperwork at 07:30. Their job is to check you have a valid appointment, and that you’re not too early, and that you’re not carrying ANYTHING that the Embassy considers to be electrical. This includes anything with a battery or an on/off switch and, interestingly, also includes earphones (even without an mp3 player), and memory cards/sticks, including USB drives. They give you a plastic bag for your wallet, keys, loose change, watch etc., and send you on to the next line 10 feet away – the security line. Security again checks your paperwork and your identity against your passport, and send you to a sh... read complete review

Review Topic: K1 Visa

Had my k1 visa interview this morning at the London embassy which was quick and easy.

Luckily for me I only live a short distance from the Embassy so I planned to walk over there for my 8am appointment but jumped on my bicycle as I fancied a bit of morning exercise. I arrived around about 7am and was the first in line, the great thing was that there's a bike rack just 25yds from where the visa line is so cycling turned out to be a great idea!!

They let us all in about 7:30. I got talking to people in the line who were there for many different types of visa's but for some reason there were lots of air hostesses from BA!! After the expected security checks I headed into a large hall and sat down with my magazine only to be called up 25 mins later. The guy behind the counter asked for various forms which I had to hand and 5 mins later I was sat back down reading again. Before I could even get back into my magazine I was called up asked how I met my fiancée, ... read complete review
