Okay, here goes.
I am going to include the minutest of details, because I know when I have read consulate/embassy reviews the more information provided the less unknowns I felt I had to face.
I prepared all our interview documents well in advance and made copies of the originals (I had 4 envelopes, one with my original documents in it, one with the copies of those and the same again for my son).
I had the Visa Fee Application Receipt ready at hand upon entry to the Embassy and you should also include your interview invitation (we had not received ours, but I will go into that as I type).
Our appointment was set for 8am on Wednesday the 15th of February 2012. I printed out a map of the location of the Embassy, which includes how to reach them by various modes of transport.
We arrived at 7.20 am and joined a small que that had all ready formed. Just before 8am a woman security guard came to the head of the qu... read complete review

The reason why this is rated a 3 is because my fiance suffers from anxiety, so even a 5 to him would be very stressful. By the way he described it, it sounds like a 5 to me! Okay here we go!
His interview was a 9am, and he entered the building at around 845 after waiting in line from 830. They asked to see his appointment letter, and he said it was a "lovely lady" who then directed him to the visa line, where he went through security and they made him take off his belt and his watch. He then proceeded to the front desk where they asked to see his receipt which they scanned, then put a few stickers on his appointment letter and assigned him an appointment I.D.
He then went upstairs to the big seating area where the tv's showed who was being served at the moment followed by an announcement. After about 45 mins to an hour, he was called up to a booth, where they asked for his birth certificate, appointment letter, passport and receipt. Th... read complete review

My fiance's interview was on February 10th. The only thing he took with him was a folder with all of our documents and proof.
He was called to the first window not long after arrival. They asked him for the affidavit of support. I don't know what other documents they asked for, he didn't go into detail.
He said it was a really long wait to get interviewed. When he was finally called he took the oath and was asked the following:
-How did we meet
-Why did we decide on the US to live instead of the UK
-What he plans to do for work
The man said "I'm happy to approve your visa" and sent Shaun on his merry way.He paid the fees and left.
He messaged me around 2:30 PM and his interview was at 9:00 AM....I'm not sure if he messaged after getting out of the interview, or when he got home.
