i woke too early after mistakenly setting my alarm an hour earlier than intended due to nerves... LOL!!
My interview was for 9.30am and I arrived at 7.30am after a hot chocolate at Starbucks and then dropping my phone at the local pharmacy.

The line was already forming and I was the 18th person. Security let us in 4 at a time and this part of the process was painless and quick. My number was I-903 and the I numbers began at I-901 therefore I didn't have to wait long and after a few N numbers were called I was up at window number 1 and dealt with by a lovely friendly dark haired British lady who was extremely polite and reassuring lady who smiled alot. There were a couple of hairy moments when I realised I had forgotten to bring the I-864 Affidavit of Support but the original was there in the file they had from the NVC along with everything else they needed.
I had another moment of sheer panic when she was unable to find a copy of my mother-in-laws passpo... read complete review

OUR INTERVIEW WAS TODAY!

We were lucky enough to be there together. Our interview was scheduled for 8:30am, however, we arrived at 7:50 and proceeded through security with no problems. Line wasn't bad at all. Once we were given a ticket number we were told to take a seat and wait for our number to be called.

After waiting about 40 minutes, our "I" number was called. We walked up to window 14 and waited about 3 minutes until an English woman came to help us. She was cold, didn't say much of anything, very sarcastic, and questioned everything my fiance said. We were asked to hand over passport, affidavit of support, visa appointment letter and proof of visa payment (Those last two things: you need from the moment you get in line, until you get a decision. Have them in an easily accessible place). The woman then took my fiance's fingerprints, and then handed back his chest x ray results and was told he needs to have it in his han... read complete review

My appointment was on the 7th of February at 9.00 am. I arrived about 7.30 and went to Goulds pharmacy to drop off my electronics. I then queued outside the embassy at 7.50 am for around 10 minutes. My passport and appointment letter were checked then I went through security. I was sent out to dispose of a birthday card I had that contained a battery (I hadn't realised) however I didn't need to queue again and was allowed back in. Once in I was given the number I-905 at reception. The embassy reminds me of a big Argos or post office where you sit until your number is called. I waited half an hour (In between there had been what felt like hundreds of N numbers called). At the desk an older English woman was there. Initially she couldn't find my file (I started to worry at that point_ however after 10 minutes she came back with it. The woman was friendly and chatted away, very laid back. She took my prints, then gradually my visa fee letter, passport photos, birth certificate and copy, p... read complete review

I arrivedd at 7:15 and my interview was at 8:00am. There were 2 lines, a short one for USC and a 2nd for all others. There were 8 people in fornt of me.

Around 7:30 a lady came checked our papers and asked if we have any electronic devices on us. (DO NOT bring any such items, mobile, car keys, otherwise you'll be sent off to the nearby pharmacy to leave it there and will lose your place in line).

Around 7:40 they called us 4 at a time to go through security. Passed the xray machines, etc. Went up stairs at 7:45, got a number and was seated in the main lobby. At 8:05 my number was called and went to window 14 and faced a kind nice British gentleman who asked for the following documents:

Passport, birth certificate, 2 photos, police certificate, divorce/death certificate ( to show eligibility for getting married), affidavit of support, and a copy of all of these. I had everything in order, had lables on different items so that I could quickly ... read complete review

So the interview is complete, and what an anti-climax it was!

Interview was scheduled for 9am and I arrived at 8:30am (later than I meant to arrive!) Got the train from Brighton at the obscene hour of 6:29am and arrived into Victoria at 7:35. Tubed it to Green Park and walked from there, which probably took 15 minutes (navigated by my iPhone looking like a right tourist!). Actually ended up at the Canadian Embassy and it took me a while to spot the giant American flag on the other side of the park!

I had been to the embassy before about 5 years ago for my J1 student visa, so knew vaguely what to expect. I had prepared before hand and didnt even bother taking anything electronic with me, just a bag full of everything ive ever sent in and more!

Queued for about 5 minutes, if that, then a lady took my interview letter and sent me forward to another line (compiled of two people!) Got called forward and gave my passport to the guy and he joked ab... read complete review
