Hi everyone,

I had my interview at the US embassy in London on 29th August and have been approved!!!! I just thought I would add my experience of the process.

TOP TIPs

1. Keep calm and carry on!
Yes I know the whole process is a nightmare but keep on filling in every form, dotting all the i's and crossing all the t's and eventually there are no more forms to fill in and you get to the interview.

2. Dont sweat the small stuff!
If you are like me and have spent hours worrying about a form you have sent in, whether or not you put the right date on, or even signed it, or did it get delivered, or whatever.... then don't worry. I made a whole pile of little errors (including being 2 years out on my sons d.o.b. lol) but was still approved.

3. Take 2 big envelopes
Envelope 1 - should have everything in it that it says to take on the list that you get online when you receive your appt letter.... read complete review

Arrived a 8:15am for a 9am appointment and the line probably had about 50 or 60 people already waiting. Started raining, so pending the weather i would advise a jacket or umbrella, as i didn't and got soaked, which wasn't very pleasant when i got in 45min later. Dried out eventually though, as it was roasting inside! Anyway, waited about 30mins for first call up, nice american guy, very pleasant and informative. Asked for Passport first ,then took my finger prints, after that he asked if i went online and signed up to pay my visa and book the courier. I explained i had paid my visa by phone before the changes but went online and paid for the courier. I gave him the MRV receipt and showed him the courier info i printed off the website. Next he asked for my birth certificate plus one copy & and my police certificate plus one copy and the affidavit of support, which consisted of the I-134 form & letter from my fiancee's employer. He only took the pay stubs because i offered them and didn'... read complete review

My Interview was on 12 August at 9am. I got to the embassy and queued outside for a few mins. (if you are wearing a belt make sure you take it off, as they will give you a clear bag to put it in for security reasons like at the airport) Someone outside at a desk checked my appointment letter and passport and i carried on queuing in another line for people who were checked off the appointment list for a few more mins. Then i entered the security check point and put my bag and folders in a tray,(like at airport security), including my appointment letter and passport. I was not requested to take my shoes off, which surprised me! After exiting the security point, i walked around the corner which was clearly marked with arrows to follow to the entrance of the embassy.
Once walking up the steps to the entrance of the Embassy, i was asked for my appointment letter and passport at the reception desk. The lady on reception put a sticker on the letter with a number on, and told me to wai... read complete review
