My husband and I left for his 8 am interview around 5:00 am. Got on the train at 5:30, got to London by 6:30 and were outside the Embassy by 7:15 a.m.
At this point there were already quite a few people outside (15-20). We got in the back of the line and at 7:30 they started letting people through security. We were given a bag to put our belongings (coins, belts, watches) and carry through. They also had several people checking periodically and asking if anyone had car keys/cell phones/ ect... and that they would have to get out of the line and check them in down the street at Goulds. At around 7:40 we were admitted in past security and stood in line at a counter waiting to get our ticket number assigned. We were the third immigrant visa in line, among many non-immigrants. Once we got into the waiting room, it took them about 5-10 mins to warm up the system and start calling out numbers. Once they did, our number was called within minutes and by 8 am, we were at the first ... read complete review

My fiance won't tell me much about the interview, only that he was handed back his passport and issued a paper stating that we are in AP with no explanation or timeframe.
Worst day ever.

Had my interview for my visa on the 23rd September and here is what i can remember.
My appointment was for 8am so i got to the embassy around 7.30. There was a queue of about 20 queuing a the podium to have their interview letters checked.
In past visits we had been allowed to take small rucksacks in and to leave mobiles at the security check point. Unfortunately this time I was told they needed to be left at Goulds Pharmacy so i quickly made my way there. The charged £3 per bag and £3 for my phone and table. This took about 5 minutes and by the time i got back there were probably about 30 people in the queue. A number of these were just waiting with people so it didn;t take too long.
As i didn't have a watch the rest of the timings are all approximate.
One person was handing out plastic bags into which anything that wouldn't go through the scanner went (including belts). Same as at the airport.
After queuing... read complete review

OK, I think I'm awake enough to do this! This is long. Our (hubby's) interview was yesterday 24/Sep/2013. We decided to avoid having to take the train down to London and staying over night in the hotel, that we would drive down. Hubby's appointment was for 9:30 so we set out from the Stoke on Trent area at 4AM. It was very dark and foggy. The drive down was uneventful and we made it down to Stanmore Station by 7AM. We did use the M6 Toll road which cost less than I thought it was because we went through before the daytime toll cost went into effect. We parked at Stanmore (5 pounds to park for the day) and we had purchased visitor oyster cards. 10 pounds on each was plenty to get to and from the Embassy with some left over.
We walked to Goulds after getting off the tube at the Bond St station and dropped off our 2 phones and key fob for £3. Stopped next door for a coffee and sandwich. We then proceeded to the Embassy just a short walk away. The line of people pretty much gave its... read complete review
