My husband and I had our appointment at 8am this morning.
After having heard that we should allow plenty of time to get there, we decided to leave Wimbledon around 6:10 and got to the embassy at about 6:50. We were first in line.
At about 7:05, I decided to go to Goulds Pharmacy to drop off anything that could be a problem. The pharmacy was not yet open but seeing two of us were waiting, they opened just before 7:15.
Back to the line, and my husband was now 5th in line. Thanks to the fact that an officer came and told the people to get in line in front of her. People basically ran in front of Kevin... NICE! One tip: limit the amount of things you bring, because you have to put everything in a plastic bag, rings, necklaces, keys, wallets etc.
They started letting people in at 7:30 and we were sitting down with number I-903 by 7:45. Things started getting going at around 8am and the first people were called. Those were mostly N visa... read complete review

It was with great trepidation that I woke this morning after a fitful night of dreams - the usual angsty “I dreamt I woke up 100 miles away and had 2 hours to get to the interview - possible but not that likely”. I’d been particularly concerned because I knew that whilst I had all the right credentials, I have a wonderful fiancee, and I am a valid beneficiary of a K-1 visa, I had the wrong sort of affidavit of support. I had the I-864 rather than the I-134 - this was on the incorrect advice of my lawyer. Incidentally, for most people with some resource, commitment and initiative, a little time spent on VJ is a much better option than the lazy spending of a (very) good few hundred quid on an inept lawyer...
I was feeling terribly jittery in the cab on the way over. I tried to think how I could calm myself - I imagined if it was my fiancee facing the interview with, possibly, inadequate documentation and I was trying to comfort her. I imagined I’d tell her ... read complete review

Finally – at last, after all the waiting it's the day of my interview 01/10/13. The day the US government shut down. Living just north of London I decided to drive in and was thrilled to hear on the radio that they were shutting down the passport offices. So as you can imagine I was rather pleased when I got to the embassy to see the queue.
First things first – I needed to leave my key fob at Goulds Pharmacy. If you stand with the front entrance of the embassy in front of you they're a short walk up the road to your right. Easy peasy. It's obviously a well rehearsed production line (and nice little earner for them). Decided to get a coffee next door then headed down to the embassy and joined the queue.
First off showing my passport and interview (packet 4) letter. Very pleasant woman who like me expressed some incredulity when someone asked if it would be OK to take a knife in. When they tell what you can and cannot take in – believe them....

I didn't go to the interview myself but I can share my fiancée experience.
He arrived about an hour and a half early for his 9am appointment. There was about a 30 min wait in line as there were about 80 people in front of him. Which majority were there for work visas and not the fiancé visa. So try to get there early.
He was asked to show his appointment letter when in line and about 2 more times along the way (this the letter you recieve in the mail stating your appointment date and the link for the paperwork which needs to be filled out and sent back to the embassy). This piece of paper is very important so do not forget it. As we almost did
When inside he was ask to show his 2 passport photos, birth certificate, police certificate, affidavit of support ( with copies of w2 transcripts-not to be mistaken for w2 forms that you recieve at the end of the year- the transcript must be obtained from the IRS website. Took about 2 weeks to rec... read complete review
