I’m writing this for my fiancé and didn’t attend the interview with him. He stayed at the Lincoln House Hotel just up from the Embassy and said the location made getting there the morning of his interview easy. He arrived at 0745 to a very long line outside.
The entry was just as described by other members and a relatively straight forward. After about 2 hours, he was called for the first portion of his interview. He was asked for his DS-160 receipt, passport, birth certificate, police certificates (he had several due to diplomatic service), both of our divorce documents (translations for his), Affidavit of Support and supporting documents. The young man thanked him for having everything in order, took his fingerprints, handed him his chest x-ray and told him he would be called for the actual interview next and to have a seat .
He waited about 90 minutes before being called again. At this point, he went under oath and his fingerprints were taken aga... read complete review

Feels like a lifetime ago, but was very straight forward. The only hiccup was when the interviewing consular asked for my original birth certificate. Although I was born in France, the only one I was ever told I needed was the Registration of a Birth Abroad certificate, which establishes my UK citizenship. Told the consular I've never had one to my knowledge. He goes away, comes back and says that's fine. Was fun for my fiance, who accompanied me, to have an American soda and candy from the snack machine for the first time in several months!

(I am the petitioner) We arrived to the embassy promptly at 7.30am for an 8am appt. We had a bit of a wait outside in the cold and got through security by 7.55. We were given our number, which looked to be the 15th "I" number of the day. It seems they processed about 20 "I" numbers whilst we were there, where the "N" numbers moved much, much, quicker. We took a seat and waited, and at about 9.45 my husband's number was finally called, he gave in his paperwork and pay and then came back to sit down about 10 minutes later. He was then called again at about 10.35 for the interview, which consisted of a very lovely woman asking him where we met, how long we had been married, and when I entered the UK. We weren't asked for any supporting evidence or anything like that, but we have been married for 8 years, and we had prepared evidence and photos in any case. When the interviewer was reviewing the documents, she told my husband that I had actually filled in one form incorrectly. I filled i... read complete review

I had my Interview on February 13th 2014, here is my experience!
Ok so my appointment letter said 9AM, I was coming from Sheffield by train so had to leave at 5AM, I arrived in King Cross at just before 7 and made my way through the tube system to Bond street and then walked to the Embassy. The embassy itself is really easy to locate, it sure is big enough!
I noticed the ltitle desk on the pavement outside with 2 British girls behind it, there's a sign telling any Interviewee's to head there first and she basically took my DS-160 and Passports to make sure I was who I said I was and gave me a little plastic bag to put my change in and then I was able to join the queue outside. Now let me tell you I was expecting a BIG queue, I was there for about 8:15 and there was literally 3 people ahead of me when I got there so I was straight in, got scanned (you just put your things in a tray like in an airport and walk through scanner). Picked up my things, then you ... read complete review
