Arrived at 7:30 am was in by 8:05 seen by 8:30 then had to wait for an hour before the interview, now I had several cimt from 1988 and I knew it was 50/50 if I would be issued my k1 but at the interview the lady said I was denied because it was more than 1 offence,oh and by the way my fiancée was with me at the interview, any way it was very pleasant in the embassy and the staff were really friendly,so even though I was denied it was not the horror sorties you some times read on here in fact far from it.. Any way I filled my i601 waiver on February 4th2014 and it was approved June 3rd.. It did cost quite a bit as I hired a good us attorney called Allan lolly..no laughing anyway they did a fantastic job in telling me what I had do which did include a full forensic physcological review which cost £800 for four hours but that in its self was worth every penny, other info you have to get is reference letters from long term friends, work colleagues etc,it's also good to note that I have been ... read complete review

Took National Express coach up from Portsmouth. Arrived at Embassy at approx. 7:45. GET THERE EARLY, as in about 45 minutes early. When I arrived, I thought my queue was large. However, by the time I entered the embassy (about 8:20) the queue had increased 10 fold behind me - no joke. It looked like it was at least an hour long and the stress in the people's faces when they first set eyes on the queue was palpable.
YOU ARE ALLOWED TO TAKE PHONES INTO THE EMBASSY. The official website isn't too clear on this, but you can. I saw people with iPads too.
Once in the embassy, I was called up before I could even put my belt back on. The 'pre-interview' was strange... The woman at the desk was a little muddled. My file had some other guy's medical in there (same last name)... frustrating, but it was resolved pretty quickly - she apologised profusely and simply fetched my medical from the other guy's file.
Sat back i... read complete review

Attended Embassy on June 20th 2014. Interview letter stated an appointment time of 9AM.
We dropped off our bags a Gould's Pharmacy at about 8.15, then headed to join the queues outside the Embassy. We asked one of the staff which line to join for an IV appointment, and she immediately took us to the front checkpoint to ensure we were checked in, as apparently IV applicants need to be let in to the Embassy in good time. The check-in lady was also pleased (surprised) that my name (I'm the sponsor) had been added to the list, as she said they usually aren't. From there, it was a short wait in line to go through security and into the embassy.
Once inside, we picked up our number and went to wait in the main hall. We waited about an hour to get called to our first window, spent about 10 minutes there going through all the paperwork, paying and doing the applicants fingerprints. The lady dealing with us was super helpful, friendly and answered a few questions w... read complete review

***Getting there ***
I walked from Marble Arch tube station. It took approximately 10 minutes using the route plotted by Google Maps. I walked down Oxford Street (the Marble Arch behind me) and then turned right onto Park Street just after the big Primark. The last section (Culross Street) is not accessible as it is behind black metal fencing. I had to go around the outside, following the fencing until I reached the other side of the embassy, with Grosvenor Square Gardens on my right.
***US Embassy ***
Entrance to the Embassy for visa interviewees is via the glass and gold office on the right, which also houses the security screening machine. I got to this area a few minutes before 7am for an 8am appointment. There were about seven people scattered around the area (including a family of 3). No real queue to speak of. Then between 7am and 7.15am, embassy staff wheeled out two mobile desks and some noticeboards on the side of the bolla... read complete review

Richard his his interview today and here is what he said about it…
"My appointment was at 9:30 AM and I got to the embassy around 8:20. There were about 40 other people in front of me in the queue but it moved fairly quick. Got to the first guard and showed them my DS-160, passport, and my interview letter. The lady claimed I wasn’t on the list, but after realizing it was a K1 interview, pulled out another list and found my name. After that went into another queue for security. Once I got through that I went up and around the corner to the steps to reception, got a number, and was in the waiting room by 9:00 AM. At 10:20 I was called up to the first window. Handed over my birth certificate, police report, passport and passport photos, Michelle’s affidavit, her taxes and bank statement. They scanned my fingerprints and then I went to sit back down.
At 11:45 I was called up to the second window and had a stern America. Raised my hand, did the oath, r... read complete review
