My appointment was at 8:30am and as this was the culmination of a long visa journey I made sure to get there early. At 7:30am I was outside and there was no queue so I went off to find a coffee, took me quite a walk to find one but turns out there is a cafe in the opposite direction, whoops.
I get back at 8:15am and wow there is a queue almost around the block. I understand from reviews here that as you have an appointment you are entitled to jump the queue (painful to any Englishmen) so went to someone who worked there who did not get it and said I need to go back of the line. This is something I've read a few times here and yes it still happens. I wasn't out of politeness miss my appointment so asked someone else and got moved to the front, my tip is to stand slightly to the side of the desk and catch their eye.
You get herded in groups of 5 to the security desk and its just like an airport. Shoes and belts off and to be honest the security staff (G4S co... read complete review

There were two lines at the front door, a shorter one for security and a longer one which appeared to be for initial triage. My appointment was at 0800 and I got there about 0745.
The initial queue was long but moved quickly, and an embassy staff member came down the line asking for interview times to make sure people were moving up in a timely fashion.
Once I got to the front of the queue, probably about 0800 (so slightly late), I was asked for my passport and DS-260 confirmation page.
As this was an immigration visa, I was then bumped to the front of the security queue.
Saw someone with at least a laptop and perhaps glass bottle of water get turned away to find somewhere to leave those items as I passed into security - so don't take a laptop!
Had to show mobile phone (i.e. that it was working as a regular phone) and go through airport style security - all items in my backpack including belt. Shoes stayed on.<... read complete review

Fiance said that everyone was really friendly and as many have said there is a really long line but it isn't for K1 visas. You're assigned a ticket number when you go inside and see 1 person to provide paperwork and then a second person for the interview.

Super speedy. Massive queue outside the front but that’s fro DS260. Not clear signage, but DS-160 got the front and the short queue next to king one. In and out in 30 minutes - would’ve been quicker but the finger print scanner stopped working for maybe 10 minutes. I had an 8:30 appointment so that might’ve been some help!

I arrived at the Embassy for 8:20 and was told to wait until 8:30. I was allowed to skip the large queue outside that is for DS-160 and go straight to the front as I had the DS-260.
From entry to giving over my documents it was smooth. I was asked for Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate, passport and Police Certificate. I was also asked for my husbands latest tax return which I was not expecting, thankfully however I had printed everything off and bought it all with me just in case.
After I submitted my documents it took nearly 2 hours for them to finally interview me. I believe this may have been staff shortage reasons as it seemed only one person was carrying out the interviews today. The interview was very straight forward and easy, took 5 minutes basically. I was asked how I met my husband, when we got married and where, what his job is. I was then approved on the spot. I hope this helps someone!
