Appointment was booked using the new online format. Interview was scheduled for 12pm, arrived at 11am but were allowed to go straight through security with no queuing. Security checked the confirmation letter that you print when you've booked your interview online together with your passport, you then go around to the security booth where your letter and passport are checked again and then through the security screening, you get directed around to the right and up some steps into the embassy. There you go to reception where your documents are checked once more (3rd time lucky?), a ticket number is printed and stuck to your confirmation letter then you go upstairs to the waiting room. Here you just wait until your number is called up on the big screen (keep an eye on this as numbers are not called in any particular order). My window was around the corner and down a corridor, just walk past the people queuing and straight to your window.
Here they had my file and did a qui... read complete review

Had our interview today at the London embassy.... My husband had an interview with a person who was very difficult to understand due to her accent (she was Chinese). He thought she said approved, but apparently said refused because she handed him back his passport and a colored slip that said "your visa application has been refused under section 221G of the immigration.... you may be able to overcome the 221G pending: submission of additional evidence. This evidence is: Passport that is valid for at least 6 months after the expected date of entry into the U.S.
He said he tried to give her the passport back but she wouldn't explain why she wouldn't take it... his passport is valid until 2025. I'm so confused and upset about this. He lives far from London and didn't realize this mistake until he was on the train back home. He said she was very forceful and wouldn't let him ask questions, apparently he was rushed out of the embassy. It was raining outside so he d... read complete review

My visa date was 5 May 2016 at 12.00pm
I got into London around 9.30am and had a slow walk down to the Embassy from Baker Street. Even though my appointment was 12.00, I thought it best to get my bearings.
I turned up to the embassy just after 10am and saw two lines formed. It looked like there was an immigrant line and a non-immigrant line. There was a little tent propped up with embassy staff ticking peoples names off of lists. On the other side of the tent was a line for the American citizen services which was of course a smaller line.
As I was early, I decided to walk back the way we came and just went for a coffee in the huge Marks and Spencer's on Oxford Street until it was time to return to the embassy.
My mother came with me and as it was a beautiful day she decided to sit outside of the embassy by the beautiful park that surrounds it. If it wasn't a lovely day then there are plenty of coffee shops/pubs to sit in wh... read complete review

My appointment was scheduled for 1pm on Tuesday May 3rd. I arrived at the embassy at 10:30am (I was mildly anxious)
After lining up in two lines (one short, one fairly longer) I entered the embassy at approximately 11am.
I was in and out within half an hour. My ticket number was called twice (two separate windows).
Documents Needed:
- Passport
- Visa size pic
- Appointment Letter
- DS-160
- Police Certificate
- Birth Certificate
- I-134 (I offered supporting documents to the interviewer who politely declined)
Questions (seemed more like an informal chat to me!!!)
What is the name off your Fiance? (Me: Matthew)
Did you meet him on your previous J1? (Me: Nope)
*Shocked face when I said no*
So how did you meet him: (Me: we worked on cruise ships together)
Oh, I see, what were your positions (Me: I was a personal concierge and he wa... read complete review
