My appointment was scheduled for 12pm, however I ended up getting there at 11.10am and they let me straight through. If you can get there a little early, do. They use a ticketing system which is essentially first come, first served... So the sooner you are in, the sooner you are out. Your appointment time is more of a guide than an absolute.
Outside the embassy there is a little tent. Generally, you have to queue to get to the tent, however the line was empty when I got there. A friendly lady asked for my letter from the embassy and my passport, she checked it and sent me over to a door. Through the door were very simple airport-style security checks. After that I walked around the corner into the embassy and was assigned a ticket number at reception. I was then directed through to a big waiting room and told to sit near the front.
The waiting room has lots of windows (like at the bank) around the side of it and big screens - you wait for your number to s... read complete review

Wow!! That all happened so fast, I was very impressed. I went in thinking id be there for 2-3 hours. My appointment time was 12:00 and I got there at 11:00 to be safe. I was through security and in the waiting room by 11:15. I got called through to submit documents at 11:35, sat back down, called for interview at 12:10 and out the door with approval by 12:15. I couldn't have been happier

Today was the final hurdle of the process at the US Embassy in London.
I must say I was extremely impressed! I have visited the US Embassy on 3 other occasions for H2B visas and the wait time in the past had been quite long. This time around for my CR-1 I was in and out in 30 minutes!
My appointment was scheduled for 1pm. I arrived at 12.15pm and went inside. I sat down for 2 minutes and my number came straight up on the TV screen. I went to a window and an officer asked me to produce my birth certificate, marriage certificate, police certificate, passport, photos and home delivery confirmaiton (all original certificates, not copies!) I had both standard passport size and US visa sized photos, the US visa size are the ones they need (5cm x 5cm).
He took my documents and asked me to sit down again in the waiting area. I was expecting a long wait but it was only 10 minutes and I was called to the next window for the interview section. ... read complete review
