My interview was scheduled for 12noon on 21st July 2016. I had arrived with plenty of time to spare due to having a long train journey to London.
11:10 -I had been advised previously that no electronic items were allowed within the building, so I headed to Gold Pharmacy around the corner from the consulate to drop off some items. I was advised that they allow phones into the embassy now so I did not need to leave my phone with them. and headed back to the Embassy.
11:22 - Although I was a little early I figured I'd see if they'd let me in as there was no queue. I handed over my appointment letter and passport at stand outside and was directed to the security office. Here, the security guard double checked my appointment letter and passport, scanned everything (folders with paperwork in, jacket, bag and watch) walked through body scanner, just like at the airport. Security officers apprehended me over a 'bottle of perfume in my bag', which was confusing as... read complete review

My interview was booked for 12pm on the 26/9/16.
I arrived at the embassy, nervous, at around 11am. I had been to the embassy after my medical a month earlier to familiarize myself to the area, which I think helped the nerves a bit.
Even though I was early, I thought I'd see if I was allowed in. So I went to an embassy worker sitting under a canopy in front of the embassy and asked if I have to see him or go to the security guy near the first little building. He asked what kind of visa am I here for and my name and to see my interview letter (which was a printed off e-mail) and my passport. He crossed me off the long list he had and directed me to the security guard who also inspected my letter and my passport and opened the door for me to enter the first building. This is where you have to scan bags and walk through a scanner - exactly the same as the airport. Everything was fine and I was directed to go through the door straight in front of the walk through scanner. Now... read complete review

My interview was for 12:00pm and i arrived about 11:40am. There were only two people ahead of me which was very surprising, as previous visits have seen ques (lines for the American reader) all the way back to the road.
Once you check in outside, you go through the security check and into the main building. You see the person on the desk who allocates you a number, you then go into the main waiting room. Its changed again with "reserved" seating which i had never seen and then general. There couldn't have been more then 30 people in total inside. There were only 4 booths open and i was called up pretty quickly.
I was asked for my Passport, Photos, BC and Police Report, followed by the affidavit of support and the evidence. I was also given my chest xray back. I was asked if i had been in the military or had previous been married. The man was very polite. He ticked of his sheet and told me i had till the 1st March to fly out and good luck. Then i had to s... read complete review

As with most previous reviews I was pretty nervous before I got to the embassy. I arrived at about 10:45 for my 12:00 appointment but I was allowed to queue up early and go through security. They staff here checked my passport, appointment confirmation, and DS 160.
When I got into the embassy I was given my sticker number and took a seat in the waiting area. The *beeps* as they update the numbers are quite loud, so they're hard to miss! I took this time to double check and prepare my documents, and was waiting for about 10-15 minutes before I was called up to the first window. The man I spoke to was friendly and efficient. I handed him my passport, birth certificate, police certificate, passport photo, affidavit and supporting evidence. He asked me when I was planning to fly out, and noted this down on my paperwork. He handed me my documents from the medical before I took a seat again.
I waited another 10 minutes or so before I was called up to the second... read complete review

I hope this is the correct topic!
I arrived at the embassy at 10:30, and took time to relax in Grovsvenor Square, there is a beautiful 9/11 memorial that is certainly worth stopping to see and think on. I joined the queue at 10:45, and was asked to wait to one side in a new line which was formed for immigrant visas, as the list of people with appointments for these was not currently available. This was a very short wait, no more than 10 minutes, after which we were sent to security. Security is just like you see in an airport, and you are given a bag for phones, wallets and belts etc.
After going through security youwalk around the right side of the embassy and climb a small set of stairs to reach a desk, the person behind which you should hand your passport and DS-160 confirmation page (make sure you remember this oryou wil need to hurry for a nearby printer). They will assign you a number and direct you to the waiting room. Ensure you sit comfortably cl... read complete review
