Review Topic: K1 Visa

Arrived at the interview one hour before the interview.

I was skipped forward to the front of the extremely long queue outside the embassy as the queue was for people wanting tourist visa's. Entered into the embassy and received my ticket number and waited on the screen for my number to appear.
Once my number appeared I went to the first window and handed over the requested documents and answered a few questions: Have I ever been married before, was I adopted, had I ever served in the military etc etc.

Sat down again and about 15 minutes later I was called to another window for the actual interview. I was interviewed by a very nice man who went through my documents, asked how we met and what we both did for a living etc. After about 30 seconds of clicking on his computer he let me know that my visa was accepted/being issued!

Overall a really good experience. Everyone I met with was very friendly and understood that I was probably nerv... read complete review

Its very hard not to be worried and nervous even though all the reviews tell you not to be - and my review is no different!
Arrived at the US Embassy, London at 10.40am for my 1200pm K1 visa interview appointment. A friendly British security lady allowed me in to the airport style security hut at 10.45am, where I entered the main building at 10.50am and at the main reception, I was given the number I-902.
Up a few stairs on the left, I was then ushered to the front of a huge waiting area that was packed with people, applying for various other visas I presume. I was too nervous to do anything but watch the screen and occasionally glance at the other applicants around me.
Number I-901 was called at 11.10am and my I-902 was called at 11.20am. I had to go to booth 13. As warned from earlier reviews, just ignore the queue and go straight to booth 13.
A very friendly and helpful British woman asked me for the letter sent to me from the US Embassy which had in... read complete review

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

I had my IR1 interview at the London embassy yesterday, and it was a very smooth process with a happy outcome. I was incredibly nervous especially as my company had offered to transfer me out to the US providing I could start next month. In hindsight, I had nothing to be nervous about. We had spent a few weeks getting large amounts of paperwork in order, for the Affidavit of support, but virtually nothing was requested.

The interview was as many others described here. Started by showing my letter and passport outside before being process through security. After visiting the reception desk and being give a sticker with a number I was told to wait in the waiting room. My number did not take long to come up and I went to the window. A very friendly guy asked me for all my paperwork, and then the affidavit. He only asked for my wife most recent tax return. I asked him if he wanted any of the other evidence (of which I had plenty), and he said hold on to it and they will onl... read complete review

My interview was scheduled for 12:30PM on Friday, the 14th of October.

From the Paddington train station I used the underground to Baker street and switched trains to get to Bond street (same station I got off for the medical). The walk from Bond street station is less than 10 minutes to the US embassy in London.

They allowed me in 30 minutes before my scheduled interview.
At 12:00PM I walked up to the woman sitting under the small gazebo (one side is for US citizens and the other for visa applications).
I handed over my passport and my appointment letter (the email I received confirming date, time, and applicant info after I booked interview).
She looked at her handheld computer and checked off my name, then gave me back my letter and passport, and directed me to the security checkpoint.

The security checkpoint is much like what you experience at an airport.
There are bins in grosvenor square outside the emb... read complete review

I had an appointment scheduled 12:30pm, I turned up at 12:10pm.

I was sent to a woman who was outside security, she was checking interview appointment letters against a sheet with people's names on, I assume a "Name not on the list, you're not getting in" sort of set up. The security woman placed a sticker with a bar-code on my appointment letter and then told me to go to security.

Security was easy, it's like airport security, I had left a glass bottle in my bag from a coffee I had drank earlier in the day which was picked up by security, they told me to throw it away, unfortunately the nearest bin is in Grosvenor Square park so I had to take a short walk to throw it away.

I walked round to the right hand side of the embassy, up some steps and reported to reception, at this point I was assigned an I number. Reception told me to walk up the steps to the left and sit at the front of the hall until my number was called. The hall wasn't busy an... read complete review
