I arrived at the embassy at 11am. My appointment wasn't until 12pm, but I wanted to get there early just in case!
When I arrived, it was very quiet. There's a little desk at the entrance where the member of staff checks off your name from a list - you'll need your passport and the letter you received from the embassy that's got a copy of the I129f petition at this point. Once my name was checked off, the lady sent me to the security area. I had to take off a bracelet I had on, and put my bag, documents, phone, passport into a plastic tray. It's just like at an airport. I then went through the metal detector, and collected my bag and my documents, and then made my way to the main embassy building.
At the front desk, a very pleasant young guy checked my name off of another list, gave me a number and directed me through to the main waiting area. It seemed pretty quiet - I reckon there were maybe about twenty or so other people waiting as well. I hat... read complete review

The overall process was nothing that you would not expect. I had previously been in the USA before on a J1 visa and the process was very similar.
Overall, it took about 15-20 minutes to line up outside, get through security, and into the waiting room. Once inside, the whole process took close to an hour which was mostly spent waiting for the number to be called. The actual interview itself took no more than 10 minutes from swearing the oath through to being approved.
The questions I got asked where:
How did you first get to know about each other?
When did you meet for the first time?
Have you been back since? (as I had been back for Thanksgiving I then was asked if I had spent it with her family)
What does she do for a living? (after I had mentioned that she had visited here over the summer)
One part stood out to me. I had done as much previous research as possible and it is possible that the change had been made ... read complete review

Like every other review I have read about the interview day, my experience was very straightforward, and everyone who I had to deal with on the day was professional, courteous, helpful and friendly.
Still, like presumably everyone who has the interview, despite reading assuring posts, you will be nervous. Let's face it, it's the BIGGEST day of your relationship so far.
I arrived at 10.30 for my 12.00 appointment. There was no queue outside. The woman at the desk outside told me they weren't seeing cases until 11.30 and suggested I went for a walk or a coffee. There's a Starbucks about 2 mins walk away so I went there. I returned 15 minutes later and stood behind 2 other people.
After having my appointment letter and passport checked I was told to queue for the security check. This is just like airport security and didn't take more than 3 minutes to get through.
I walked round to the entrance and was given my number at recept... read complete review

I'm going to break this review down into four parts, the first part will be about queuing to get into the embassy the second will be about security, the third will be about the document check inside, and the fourth will be about the actual interview.
1) Queuing to get into the Embassy on a January morning in England, as you can imagine, was quite cold. There didn't seem to be much structure to the queuing, there was two separate lines without guidance as to what line was for what. I joined the shorter queue at around 9:40am - my appointment was at 10:30am - and then an employee of the embassy walked up and down the queue doing a document check, I told her I was here for a K1 interview and she told me to come out of the queue and go to the front and let her colleague know I was attending an immigrant visa interview. K1 is classed as an immigrant visa at the embassy, just so you know. I went to the front and let the person at the desk know I was sent to the front by her co... read complete review

I had my K-1 Visa interview on Tuesday 17/01/17 at the London Embassy
I flew down from Edinburgh early that morning and was in London at just after 8am for my 11am appointment. I decided to take the 30 min stroll from Victoria Station to Grovesnor Square where the embassy is located and when I strolled past at about 9:30am there were two long queues of people. I continued on to the Starbucks up the street to get a much needed coffee(3 hrs sleep) and wait for it to be time.
When I returned at 10:15 the queue closest to the embassy was still long but there was no one queuing at the other stand and I could see this was for immigrant visas. I walked up and handed the young lady my passport and printed email confirmation, she checked my name off a list, scribbled something on the letter and directed me to go straight over to the attendant who was calling people over from the other queue. From there you enter a line to a small guardhouse where you enter 4 at a ... read complete review
