My appointment was at 12:30pm and I arrived about 5-10mins early. I was queueing at the wrong pavilion to start with, it wasn't terribly clear and others in the queue seemed to be confused where they were supposed to be as well. I've been to the embassy before for my student visa (and for the renewals) and there's usually someone standing outside who directs you where to go... Regardless, it didn't take me long to find out I had to enter via the right pavilion, which is for those seeking visas. The one on the left is for "official visitors". In the pavilion you go through security, like at an airport. The security guys were very friendly.
Then you follow the path around the building to where you enter and present your passport and interview letter to reception. They weren't terribly welcoming in reception and were quite unprofessional. There were 3 of them chatting and joking amongst themselves and not acknowledging me. I think one of them had finished her shift and was ... read complete review

I arrived 10 minutes early for my interview in a little bit of a rush. I’d driven down from Leeds with the intention of parking at a distant tube station and getting in that way. I should have been an hour early but the M1 was particularly accident prone that morning so I got there in time, but just in a little bit of a rush.
The first mistake I made was trying to barge right into the security booth which caught the attention of the two police officers with assault rifles who’re standing imposingly outside. The security guard told me through the intercom that I should talk to the guy on the little cart standing outside to check in and then I’d be able to go through them.
The guy at the cart wanted to see my passport and my confirmation letter with the date of the interview on. I showed him my email that I’d printed out and that seemed to work fine. He signed it and sent me through to the security room.
When I was ... read complete review

First of all, YOU CAN BRING YOUR MOBILE. I read that it wouldn't get past security but other people had it, and you need it to entertain yourself. You're in for a lot of waiting.
So I got there and went through security. Then I walked to the side of the big building and this English receptionist looked at my DS160 and gave me a ticket number. I went in and waited and waited ages. The ticket system is a bit daft. They flash a number on a screen so you have to always be looking at it in case they call you.
I went in at 10am, and I wasn't called until around 11:20am. Finally my number was called so I went up to the ticket window and an English man looked at the DS160, my passport, and fiancee's financials. The guy was really straightforward and friendly.
Then I sat back down and waited ages. Eventually I was called and I saw an American lady behind a counter. She asked how we met and when we met in person. Then she asked me about how I like... read complete review

I actually had this interview a few years ago, but recently discovered this site while applying for a K1 and thought I'd share my experience and rating. Applying through London is a straightforward experience, but one that can test your patience a little bit. Staff are for the most part friendly, but there can sometimes be a bit of a long wait. I waited 20 minutes to be seen the first time, and then an additional two hours before my actual interview. Went in for a 9am appointment and was out by 11:30.
