I am a German living in Britain. There is some info for Germans further down.
================= General Info about London Embassy ====================
The London Embassy is essentially a big waiting room with security glass counters on the side and a big screen on the wall at the back. Everything is done standing 'through' the security glass. The clerks are well to understand.
They have a water fountain but I couldn't see any vending machines. They have two photo booths for 6 GBP for each shot (cash required, I suppose). Phones are allowed as surfing and texting devices, though strictly no calling and no photos. Phones must be turned off at the counters. I guess it is sensible to switch the phone in quiet mode.
People are queued into at least 5 different queues, D, E, N, I and V and get a number from one of the queues. The N-queue seemed particularly long. During my wait, they served probably 40 N-cases. The I-queue (for immigration... read complete review

I wont go into too much detail, as I've written a full review of my embassy experience on my blog, you can view this here: https://yaztalksalot.wordpress.com/2017/07/01/k1-interview-experience-london/
Overall, it was a very straight forward an easy experience! Everyone I spoke to was very pleasant and helpful. The only thing that was a little bit annoying was the wait between window 1 and 2 , which was about 2.5 hours! Other than that, everything went very smoothly - everything was explained to me clearly and processing of the visa to be issued itself have been very prompt, via the CEAC tracker. The actual interview itself was about 5-10 minutes

I was naturally nervous but handed over asked for documents and then sat around for just over and hour and then called up to window and it was like a conversation;
where is she from?
where does she live?
when we started speaking?
when we 1st met in person?
how many times have we been together?
Have I met her family?
Congratulations I'm approving your petition your passport will be back with you within 14 days!
Painless!!!
You will be fine

I had my interview on 26/05/2017.
To be honest, it's less of an interview and more just a place where they check your documentation.
Anyway, my interview was at 1pm on a Friday and was basically the last one so by the time I got there the waiting room was pretty empty.
1) I got there 20 minutes early and got told to come back in 5 minutes - I sat in the park, it was a beautiful day.
2) I went back to lady at the outdoor desk who looked at my passport and the confirmation email of the interview that I printed out and directed me to the security booth at the front of the building
3) Security was fine, just don't take a laptop which they tell you on their prohibited items list. You ARE allowed a mobile phone - they have Wifi for this purpose.
4) I then walked around the building to the check in desk. They give you a number to look out for, like a deli counter.
5) Waiting area was almost like an cruddy airport lou... read complete review

My fiancé had his interview today at 1:00pm. He arrived 15 minutes prior. He went in to the first window and handed in our affidavit of support and supporting documents (tax transcripts) and then was asked to have a seat and wait. He waited about 10 minutes and then was called for the interview. He was asked about 5 questions regarding how we met and a few things about my family and where I live. He was then told that he is approved and that he will receive his visa in 1-2 weeks. The entire process was over by 1:28 so it was about half an hour from start to finish! All in all a very pleasant and easy experience!
