Advice… arrive as early as possible. I got there at 7 am and there were 6 people in front of me, some being families, who take a lot of time to process throughout the different stages. Once the applicants arrived, a pleasant guard segregated the immigrant from non-immigrant visas. Benches were provided outside, down a covered area; only the applicant was allowed into the building while loved ones waited patiently outside. At 7:30 the external kiosk was manned by a local lady, who checked each person by letter with passport. You were then ushered to another line where in twos you were allowed in for security checking, mobiles handed over and a receipt given. In groups you were assembled in that building for 5 minutes then ushered across an internal courtyard into the visa processing building. On entry, each applicant was given two tickets with a number on it. You maintained this number throughout the process and were called up on that number.
We were seated at the far end of a... read complete review

Arrived at the US Embassy in Abu Dhabi at 06:45 AM, there were four people already there. The guard directed me to a second line, there was one person ahead of me. We waited on a bench. Just before 08:00 AM, everyone got up and lined up by the door. At 08:00, they opened the door and one-by-one we went to the window to explain our purpose for coming and to show our appointment letter. I had to leave my bag there at the security desk. A receptionist gave me a number (mine was 006) on a paper which also said the window I would be called to. I sat down near that window, there were a few others already seated in the area. After about 15 minutes, they called my number and I went to the window. They asked for my appointment letter and took all my papers. I sat down and they called me back after about five minutes and gave me back... read complete review
