My husband had his interview today at the Abu Dhabi US embassy. We originally filed for Islamabad but due to work he moved to Abu Dhabi so we filed his DS-230 from there and he changed the embassy to Abu Dhabi.

I don't have very many details about initial screening and all that because I was given some brief details by him since I am in the US. He said he was interviewed by two people. The first person was a lady and gave him a hard time about the financial sponsorship not being adequate and the possibility of us having to find another co-sponsor (since I am a student on loans so i cannot provide the financial sponsorship).

The second person who interviewed him asked him the same questions but my husband's answers re-assured him that it was a minor detail and nothing big enough to hault the application. The interviewer then stated that there was a new rule where any pictures or video or any media sent by CD or anything of the sort was no longer allowed to... read complete review

I woke up at 2am on July 31, 2011. Took a cab going to US Embassy Abu Dhabi at 5am. Reached in the USEM at 6:13am, more than an hour before my interview at 8am. At 7:45am, security guard checked the passport and appointment letter. After 5minutes another security checked again the passport and appointment letter and advised to go the entrance door. Undergone the security checks.Felt like I was in the airport. Then, went through the office. The security guard gave me a number 002 (duplicate copy). When my number flashed in window 10, an Arabic lady took all my documents with a very strict face. She took all the filled forms. Of all the supporting documents I brought, she only asked me the tax transcripts (2007 to 2010) and one passport photo. The following documents were taken:
1) DS-156
2) DS-156K
3) DS-157
4) DS-230 with additional sheet
5) I-134
6) Tax Transcripts (2007 to 2010)
7) One passport photo
8) Payment AED 810
9)... read complete review
