Whole procedure took about 2 hours.
1) Take number
2) Submit all papers
3) Fingerprinted
4) Interview
The take-a-number machine is in the DMV looking lobby for all immigrant visas. You just go to a window and talk to official though bullet proof plastic/glass with a microphone. This window is steps 2-4 with ~30-60 min waits in-between.
The interview was about 1min. She asked the following questions:
How did you meet?
Did you visit each other in the last 2 years?
How many brothers and sisters does he have?
When did you two decide you wanted to get married?
They did not accept extra papers into the file. Even papers requested they rejected (they asked for divorce, marriage, and adoption papers in the package). But since she was single (never married) and not-adopted (from family cert) they just refused those documents.
I counted what looked like 4 other K1/K3 applic... read complete review

Not sure why, but they decided to send to AR pending some more checking with the paperwork. They didn't give us a date for the second interview as well. It seemed that everyone received blue slips that day from what I could tell. We are still waiting for contact from the embassy for the second interview date.

The overall experience for the K1 interview at the US embassy in Seoul was pretty darn good. We had a 830am appointment but did not actually arrive at the embassy until about 915am. The visa fee was not paid before the day of the interview so we had to wait until the bank opened at 9am to pay the visa fee. Then we rushed to the embassy that day. After also doing the passport delivery form, we went up to the third floor. Took a number and looked around. The american lady in the 308 window directed us to the 305 window where we submitted all of the information. Was asked why we were late and so we explained about the visa fee. She looked through our information and verified a few minir things. I was there too and for some reason I was asked to sign again the I-134 form. Then my fiancee did the fingerprinting right away. We went through basically everything all at once. Then we sat down and waitied. After almost everyone else before us went through the interview, we were fina... read complete review

Great experience all around, minus a few minor communication issues. The immigrant visa unit staff were very helpful in expediting our interview after our 22-day holdup in AP @ NVC. We got the Packet 3 email on October 1, returned it the same day, and received the Packet 4 interview email on October 5 with an October 6 interview date—all this, mind you, with an intervening holiday weekend (Chuseok)!
The interview process was very straightforward. Intake now begins at 8 am, with doors opening at 7:30. We were first in line and took number 1 from the dispenser. We were called right around 8 to submit our documents through the window, then waited around quite a while to be called for fingerprinting (a consular officer came out to explain that the delay was due to computer issues). About 20 minutes after fingerprinting, we were called up for the interview. A very friendly African-American female CO swore us both in, then asked Elisha a couple quick questions (How did you m... read complete review

Seoul Embassy is extremely efficient and friendly. I'm submitting this review on behalf of my fiance. He just finished his interview today & overall his experience is outstanding. He arrived at the embassy at 8:00 AM, schedule interview is at 8:30 AM. Around 8:30 AM, he started to submit the documents through different windows. Then its fingerprinting. Then he waits for the final interview with the consulate officier. The entire interview was 3 mins long. The officer asked him: Where did you meet her? next question was when do you two plan to get married? then the officer asked if he can speak Chinese, since i'm Chinese American, i guess the officer was curious. That was it! Officer said OK!!! and stamped the papers..... fiance jumped up and said thank you & have a nice day. Overall, great impression of the Seoul Embassy. Since our case was forwarded to the Seoul Embassy from National Visa Center, it was extremely efficient and excellent customer service. There i... read complete review
