Pretty good and quick experience overall. We arrived at 730am, 15 minutes prior to our 745am appt. We were among the first few to be dealt with. I thought we would actually go into a separate office to speak with a bigwig representative, but it was just a rep behind the glass who went over our info and asked my fiance alone, a few questions regarding how we first contacted each other, when we met in person, and what our plans were. She then called for me to come up and answer the same questions, to which we had answered honestly the same. In all, it took 10 minutes to do that interview, and an hour in and out of the embassy. My fiance was nervous, but I made sure she just remembered the information about how we met, the timeline, and things about me that she could remember. Although the medical was done only 2 days prior to the interview, we were able to proceed, and the officer said that the hospital will be sending the sealed documents, so we dont need to return to Seoul. She will on... read complete review

Easiest interview ever.
1 hour inside embassy, all waiting time. Interview lasted about 4 mins:
How did you meet?
Tell me about your fiancée
Has she come to Spain? How many times?
I talked a lot, basically I gave almost every info she needed with the first question. It was all in spanish and pretty easy and smooth. After interview she told me I was approved.

Here is the timeline from my interview today.
7.10am arrive at embassy, 2nd in line
7.30am entered embassy, powered off and handed in phone and went through the scanner. Proceeded to 2nd floor and gave documents to the clerk at the check-in desk. She went through the documents discarding extra pages etc, put the passport pics in a clear envelop and attached them to my passport before handing everything back to me. I am not Korean so she said that I would have to come back down and get a barcode on my passport but told me to proceed to the 3rd floor in the meantime.
7.35am went to the 3rd floor (section on the right hand side) and waited for the booths to open.
8am booths opened and they began to call names. It wasn't in the order that people entered but everyone was seen in a matter of minutes. It was very efficient. I gave my bundle of documents plus the tax forms for the last applicable year. I was told to sit down and they would call my name.
8.10a... read complete review

The interview was done respectfully, and the officials were warm and professional. It took about two and a half hours. There was a long wait, but the interviewer's assistant made sure all the documents were in order during the wait time. They commended us for doing the paperwork well. The interviewer asked three things, what happened in Minneapolis airport (the denial of entry on an ESTA visa with puzzling reasons why), where are you going to live, and how long have you been married.

Our appointment was at 7:45 AM on May 1, 2018. I went with my fiance because we both work and live together in Seoul where we scheduled our appointment. We arrived at 7:30AM and there was already a long line of people. Please take note that there are two lines. One for non-immigrant visas and the other for American citizens and immigrant visa applicants. The longer line you might encounter down the wall towards the fire station in the background is not the line you want to be in. (Because the K1 visa is a non-immigrant one with the intent to immigrate it gets treated as an immigrant visa by the embassy.) We lined up and we presented our passports along with the letter of appointment at a window outside the consular office, got checked off a list, and told to enter the embassy for a security check. The Seoul Embassy has a one cell phone - one set of keys per person rule. My fiance had a backpack with him and they allowed him to carry it inside after putting it through a scanning machine.... read complete review
