I found the Johannesburg Consulate staff very friendly and extremely helpful. My interview lasted 20 minutes it was straight and to the point. I was afraid of being interrogated but I was made to feel at ease and comfortable throughout the process. A pleasant experience all round, I paid the courier fee and received my visas promptly.

So when I went I waited for about an hour , because I was the first person in line. Over all the interview process for my was nerve recking with the waitng. I was short of one document, which i sent the next day, on the same day I called just to make sure they received my email. I was then notified that I should send my passport and was told wat will receive in my package when DHL delievers it back to me. YES WE GOTTTT THE VISAA!!!!!
The HAPPIEST moment EVER!!
Thank you to everyone that helped us, we truly Appreciate it.

My appointment for K1 visa was scheduled for 1pm at the new Consulate in Sandton. Give yourself enough time to find parking in Sandton City and then to walk across the road to the Consulate.
I arrived at 12:30pm and was told they're on lunch unitl 1pm so had to wait outside.
On entering you go through a security check and you leave the envelope from your medical at the security desk.
The new Consulate is very cold and 'clinical' and is extremely noisy compared to the old building in Killarney.
Seating is limited and you are very close to the interview booths, so everyone around can hear what's being said.
The case worker & security staff were very friendly and the consular officer was very professional.
There was a lot of waiting time compared to the 15 min interview with the Consular Officer.
After going through all my supporting evidence, the following questions were asked by the officer:
How did you meet?

A lot of waiting for not much face time, although very efficient and organised. Absolutely no problems. Everyone was very professional.
Extent of questions asked:
How did you meet?
Where did you meet?
When did you meet?
When was the last you saw each other?
How did you keep up the relationship?
What does she do?
What do you do?
"That is it - you are done for the day - you can go now." Your passport will be posted to you within 5 working days.
Good luck to everyone else!
