My fiancé had her interview today and we were approved!! Advice to all:
1. They book more than one couple for the time slots, so ensure you get there early to stand in line, at the head of this line for your applicable time slot. Her interview was at 1pm, but there were 20 people with the same, but because she got there an hour before, she was at the front of that 1pm line of people. So get there early.
2. She had all her packages squared away; we had 3 folders: Folder 1 contained all required documents for your interview that was listed in your Packet 3 letter/email received from the consulate; folder 2 all the evidence of our relationship since our first package submission and folder 3 was our original package, just in case.
3. Consulate complimented her on how well her package was put together and that is what they like to see and don't very often, they liked that
4. She was asked 3 questions; where we met, when was the first trip to see me and ... read complete review

We went to the consulate in Johannesburg 15 minutes before our appointment at 1:00 but were only called inside after 1:30-1:45. There was a really nice man who checked us in and allowed me to be with my fiance the whole time. We waited till about 3:00 when the preingerview documents were collected. My partner went up to the window to give everything but had a question and asked the lady in the window if she could ask me (her partner) something. She allowed me to stay with her the rest of the time. The. A few minutes later she was called up for the interview. The guy reviewing her case in the window was cold and asked how we met, she said, and the basked "and then?" so.she continued then he asked when did we get engaged and she messed up with the wrong year (she said 2016 instead of 2017) so he asked her again. Then said she was approved. I went up to her when she gave me a thumbs up and embraced her - looked at the window and thanked the guy. He smiled and we left happy. Just waiting t... read complete review

Appointment was 13:30 got there at 13:00. Lady came by took rocal. 15 minutes later I went inside. I was given a number, and took a seat. 40 minutes later I was called to do biometrics. The lady took my originals and I asked her if she wanted my file of proof o relationship. She said if they need it they will ask for it. I was told to go sit. An hour later I get called to the counter. Before I was called 2 other people's visas got declined. They argued with the lady and when I got there she was annoyed. When I approached she said to give her a minute as she was typing away on her keyboard. She then says we will start with taking an oath. I say that's fine and I wait... and wait ... and wait ... eventually she looks up and someone starts talking to her. She rolls her eyes and responds then says to me they are having system problems. I say it's fine and wait ... she looks up and asks me to raise my right hand. Then I take the oath. She returns my original documents. Asks: - how did you ... read complete review

I finally received my passport on the 3rd of October. My appointment was the 21st Sept. On friday (28th) after seeing my case on "admin processing" for a week, i sent an email to DHL, assuming that it was maybe a system glitch... The DHL contact sent an email to embassy and within an hour, my CEAC status changed to "issued". It was as if they had forgotten they were working on my file. Typically, if your case is approved, you stay on admin processing for two days or so, even CEAC site says so. They clicked issued on friday and monday i asked DHL where my passport was and upon following up, DHL learned that the visa was only issued/printed on monday not friday despite what the system said. I am sure the public holiday didn't help ... But still very frustrating to have to wait so long(when others wait 3-5days for the most part) and also noting that the embassy isn't that busy with immigrant visas.

I arrived at the consulate at around 12:20pm, my appointment was at 1pm. They don't let you in until your appointment, i really shouldn't have been that early.
I was called into a window to submit documents and take finger prints. She saw i did my medicals but couldn't find them, so she spent some time looking for them. The lady then asked me about the fees, i told her i had paid all the fees at NVC. Unfortunately i accidentally printed two copies of AOS and not IV, she asked me to email the confirmation, however about 30min later, she called me back and said, the CO can't interview me without paying the fees so i went running to Sandton City to try and find a place to get 1 page printed. The places i started at either had their printer broken or offline. I had no idea Postnet was just around the corner, eventually i found it - i got back to the consulate round 2:50pm. Sat for another 30min. Then i was called for the interview, she asked me how i met my husband and details of w... read complete review
