Arrived for appointment at the exact time. Showed officer on the floor for US Consulate our appointment letter. Gave in our cell phones and purse to be held while in the office.
Waited at the sitting room which was full! Go to window to give our appointment letter and were told what window to be expected to be called to next for our interview.
After about 15 minutes of waiting called up to the window by none other than B. She asked is it was alright to wait an additional 45 minutes and then come back for our interview. Was not expected at all but understood and listened to directions. Spent 45 minutes walking around Auckland with our 1 year old in tow. Got something to eat at the cafe under the consulate.
Once 45 minutes passed, came back to office to repeat previous actions. The office was now almost completely empty save for a USC and her baby waiting at another window.
B called us up and asked for proof of funds. I provided my co-signer/co-petitioner's ... read complete review

We had such a positive experience with the Auckland embassy-- I couldn't be happier with the attention they gave to our case.

We were in a tricky situation, because our work visa for New Zealand was coming to and end, and processing from the USCIS side had taken way longer than anticipated because we had received an RFE. By the time the Auckland embassy received our case, our visa was due to end in 1.5 months. I made them aware of this and they (Elle, specifically) did everything in her power to speed along the process. She gave us an interview for 3 weeks after the date they received our case in office-- talk about quick! Elle was super quick to reply to email and really helped us through the process.

The day of the interview, my fiance and I went to the consulate. I didn't think I'd be allowed in, but they were fine with it! Our interview was scheduled at 9:15am, but my fiance wasn't called to the interview desk until around 10am.

The interview process was very smooth, easy and quick. Everyone was very nice from the security guard to the immigration officer. I got there early and the security officer scanned myself along with my documents. He then had me put my personal items (wallet, phone, etc.) in a locker. From there, I entered into the waiting room. I was called to see "B" who is very nice. She actually complimented me on my passport photo. She took a look through my paperwork and sent me to another booth to pay the fee. After paying, I waited for my interview. The questions I were asked were:

-Where I met my fiance
-What our wedding plans were
-What type of work I would be looking for
-What my fiance did for work
-Where my fiance lives

"B" did ask for my fiance's tax returns which luckily I had. That was something I didn't think was needed. She also asked what my fiance's phone number was. I was honest and said I wasn't sure because we didn'... read complete review

Everyone has had fabulous reviews about the whole process here. I however, had a mixed experience.

Prior to my interview, I sent multiple emails and usually got a quick reply (from someone that either didn't sign their name, or NOT B), but twice didn't get a reply at all. I thought B would be dealing with me since she sent the first email - but, all the times, like I said it was someone else responding. So, anyways, it seems I was talking with other people - not just B. This is important as I will explain later.

I felt they weren't so organized in terms of checking my documents/case. I was under the impression that they had everything I needed due to their not getting in touch with me about anything outstanding. I'm from Wellington, so I had to go to Auckland the day before my interview. I had left Wellington, and on arrival in Auckland, I get an email from B - saying she just looked over our file that day (amazing to me, since my interview was t... read complete review
