I would like to start off by giving thanks to Visa Journey for as this process wouldn’t have been the same without. I was a like a fish out of water until one day miraculously I somehow stumble on this page. This page does wonders!! The support from the VJ family makes it easier. In special I would like to give a special thanks to MrTree12!!!! Please please soak as much as you can from this gentleman he’s very knowledgeable.
I arrived in Santo Domingo on 01/11/2014 just 3 days before my fiancés interview. We went out with friends from Alaska on 01/12/14 as we celebrated my 30th birthday. Once again on the 13 we were out all day visiting family and friends and of course as Dominicans we hadn’t printed out pics that we had taken on my several trips after sending our K1 package, and we had to print out a form as well (procrastination at its finest). We arrived at my fiancés home a little after 12 am. We double checked all our documents (we had a ton of things a little over... read complete review

First, i would like to thank Visa journey, and its members for all the useful information i was able to gather in preparation for our interview. HERE ARE OUR FACTS, AND OUR INTERVIEW INFORMATION. I am a white American male 51, and her 36 Our interview was scheduled for 1/22/2014 at 6:30 AM. I am the petitioner, and had prepared all the paperwork, forms, and other information since my fiance did not have easy access to a printer. First the only information i needed to supply as the petitioner was my divorce decree, I-134 AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT, (BANK STATEMENTS, AND FINANCIAL DOCUMENTS) DS-156K, DS-230 PART 1, DS-160 FORMS ONLY along with our passports, and interview letter.

The interview, we arrived at 5:15 AM, and the line was forming with approx. 75 people in front of us. At 6:30 AM, they began to let people inside. They separated the men, from women and we entered and took a seat where the climate inside was nice.. not hot !! Our lucky number was 273, as we awaited fo... read complete review

Sorry for the late review. I've been trying to do one but with the trip and all the excitement I just couldn't find the time to do so. Here goes..

The night before the interview my fiance and I barely slept. I kept reciting in my head all the questions we might be asked. We slept for about an hour and half and at about 3:30 am we headed out to la capital. We live in La Vega so it was about a good one and a half hour drive there. Good thing there was no traffic!! But there was so much fog!! I thought we would never get there. At about 5am we arrived at the consulado. There are buscones everywhere telling you where to go!!! I was so annoyed because I had read all about them from reviews and all..so my dad, who drove us there, was paying attention to what the buscon was telling him we needed to do. He was saying something about pictures needed to be stapled to the forms and if you didn't have them stapled you would be sent back..(which is a big lie)!! I didn't have any of ... read complete review

My fiancé is 58 years old and I am 34 years old, it doesnt matter the age differences I LOVE MY MAN, I was alone at the interview and I was approved, here is the story:

I went to Santo Domingo from Santiago on Monday 17, I stayed at Jardines del Teatro Hotel.
I arrived at 7: 00 pm, when I was at the office hotel I met @firegirl1788.
It was a pleasure met her, also I met her baby and her mother.
I talked with my friend @firegirl1788 until 11 pm, she helped me a lot, explain me the interview process. I went to bed but I couldn’t sleep, I only slept 2 hours.
I wasn’t nervous but I couldn’t sleep. I woke up 2:00 am and I couldn’t come back to sleep so I get up and started to prayed to GOD. I was praying until 4: 00 am, then I started to get to order everything, I took a shower and got ready to go.
At 5: 00 am I called my fiancé, he was very nervous but I said him: d... read complete review
