Review Topic: K1 Visa

Our appointment was this past Friday, 10/30, at 8:00 am. We arrived at the embassy, around 6:40 to see a very long line outside the embassy. Fortunately for us, there is a separate queue for beneficiaries with children. Ten minute later we were in the embassy with the fifth number of the day.

We were called to the counter around 7:20, at which time, we were asked to provide our documents (DS-160, birth certificates, police certificate and visa receipt from Banco Popular). We were never asked for our I-134, even though the website indicated that it was an item we were told to prepare and bring (I asked at the end of the Q&A interview if we needed to submit it and were told that K-1 applicants do not-uber strange to me, but confirmed by others).

We sat down for the next step of the interview. My poor fiancee was so nervous. When she figured out this was a play in two acts (paperwork and then the interview), she was shaking like a leaf. I smiled from ear ... read complete review

We arrived to the Embassy on time and got through the line fairly quickly. When we went inside we took a number and were told to sit and wait. We waited for a few hours before our number was called. The first time we went up the consul asked us a few questions and told my fiance that he needed to get his fingerprints taken, so we went to another window and did that. Then we went back and waited for another hour or so. When we were called again the consul asked us questions about how we met and some other basic questions. Then she asked if he had had any problems with the law and he said that he had. He was detained in 2011 for being at the site of a bar fight where an innocent bystander was killed by a stray bullet. He did punch a few people in the fight but he had nothing to do with the death. He was held in jail for 15 days for a hearing and was proven not guilty and released. He started to tell the consul about this incident and she decided that she could not grant the visa at that ... read complete review

At first i thought they were setting us up to place is in a AP loop. Add the first interviewer asked me if I brought a copy of my Divorce Certificate... inextensa and legalized she said other wise the case was font to be pending untill they received it. I was livid thinking the worst. But then the interview with the Consul was really smooth he was very nice to us and congratulated us when he was done. All in all really good experience. I'm happy this is all done. Now POE.

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

Our interview was at 7;00 and we got there at 6:35 AM. There was a long line but it started to move fast. When we got in one of the security guy told us "Today is a beautiful day for visa approvals, I can feel the good energy" we just look at him like oooook thanks. We got number 151, waited like 20 minutes and our number was called to window 1. When we got to window 1 the guy ask for the birth and wedding certificate and gave me back all the papers I sent to nvc and that they dint need. He told us to sit and wait to be call again. We waited like an hour and our number was called to window 12. The Interview was really fast I think it took like 3 minutes, she was looking at some pictures and asking questions. She just ask 5 questions.
How we meet ?
Who was the baby on one of the pictures?
If we're going to live alone in US?
How many times I visit DR?
If someone from my family came to the wedding?
I answered 4 of the questions .
I wa... read complete review

After a very aggressive questioning about port of entrée and have you ever been arrested in U.S., official kept leaving a post; conclusion. She said nothing, no instruction letter, just Administrative Processing and we'll get back to you through the means you provided. A month later an email was received, requesting documents which were provided at the interview. Documents were handed in on August 14 2015. A period of 60 days has passed for reviewing and still waiting for decision.
