My wife and I arrived at 7:15 for our 8:00 AM interview time. We needed to bring our cell phones to the Consulate to call a taxi when we were finished, but they are prohibited inside the consulate. There are folks who will hold your phone for 300 pesos or so, and it worked just fine. There is also parking a few hundred feet from the embassy.
We were both dressed well: I in a suit and tie, my wife in a dress, and probably overdressed at that, but I always try to make a fairly decent impression, especially at something as important as this. Ultimately, it wasn't necessary. Dress comfortably. People are relaxed and are dressed well, but not overdressed.
The interview consists of two parts: the first is not really an interview, but rather the time when the required documents are collected. The woman who attended to us was sweet and pleasant. We spent a total of eight or ten minutes with her. Suggestion: Have all required documents organized before you arrive.... read complete review

The lines are long, but once they start moving it's a relatively quick process. We arrived at the embassy at 6:30a for our 8:00a interview. We got through the scanners after about 45 minutes-1hr waiting outside/through outdoor lines. We were inside, number 249. By 10:30a we were called up to a window for additional documents. By 12 we were called for our interview. She swore us in and asked questions.
Questions:
How long have you been married?
How long have you been dating?
Where and how did you meet?
What does she do for a living?
What degree did she graduate with?
What is she doing now?
Do you have any children together?
Do you have any children individually, from previous relationships?
Why did you just get divorced in 2014?
Do you have any children with your ex?
-Looked at pictures, commented on how young we looked-
Congratulations your visa has been approved.
It was very easy,... read complete review

Our interview was scheduled for 7:00 AM on November 5th, 2015. We arrived at the embassy very early at around 5:30 AM. The new location is very easy to find and very nice. Although there is parking at the embassy, it is NOT for those of us scheduled for an interview. There are people all along the roadway soliciting parking so finding a place to park is not a problem. We decided on a location at the NE corner of Av Republica de Columbia and Av Jacobo Majluta. Seeing that it was at a main intersection, it was well lit. Many of the others were very dark. We were charged RD$250 and paid at the time we parked. We were given a laminated card to present when we picked up our car.
It was a short walk to the embassy and when we got there we met no more than 50 people in total. There are quite a few lines but they are all marked well. The 3 rightmost lines are for the 7:00 AM, 8:00 AM, and 9:00 AM appointments. Next to them is the line for families with children. R... read complete review

We had our interview October 30th, Friday for 8 am. We got there about 6:55am or 7ish and there was a big line outside and thankful I didn't wear heels. They separated the lines for the people for 7am appointments and the 8am appointments. This lady was going to everyone making sure they had their interview appointment sheet ready. We passed through security. Then went into the waiting area was given #157 and they were only on 104 but it went by fast because there are alot of windows going on at the same time. We got called to give all the necessary documents but for some odd reason the packet of the medical exams that says do not open was never opened the lady looked at it and just gave it back without opening and reading it oddly.. Also our i-134 was never asked for either. Then she ripped the second ticket off and told us to wait for our number to be called again. I wasn't sure how it was going to go from their and she wasn't very nice and well explained. It was a long freezing wait... read complete review
