We never received our package, we went to pick up the package on Monday Feb 28 one week before the interview.

At 6:05am we began to enter the building and go through security. At 6:45 we were called to submit our documents at window 25. They stay with the forms, police report, birth certificate, passport, etc. We were told to pay at window 12 and return to window 25 after paying, window 12 did not open until 7:30. We paid, went back to window 25, and she have us our ticket number 141. About 20 or 30 minutes later we were called for finger prints.

After about another 20 minutes or so, we were called to window 24 for our interview. A tall, bald, white man, maybe 30 or 35 years old was our Consulate Officer. He asked if Stephanie (beneficiary) speaks English. So, for our whole interview he spoke to us both in English. He asked me (petitioner) for my passport and saw all of the stamps on it and asked if they were all to see Stephanie. I said yes. He asked whe... read complete review

we just came back from the interview. we got the visa!!! BUT, we were pretty much put thru the wringer. our apptment was for 6am. we stayed at the jardines del teatro which is half a block from the embassy. when we walked in already after security, at around 6:50 and maybe 5 or 10 minutes passed before they called my fiance to give in all the forms. we were then sent to pay at caja 12. it didnt open till 7:45am. we then sat don and shortly were called to do fingerprints at window 13. after that we waited another 30 mins until we were called to window 18 for the interview. there was a white guy with a trimmed beard(non dominican)....not very friendly. he asked me how long we have been together and then said "did you know that in july he applied for a tourist visa? i said yes, i wanted him to come to the united states for several weeks to see what it was like and if he would be able to live here. he tried to make me think that my fiance has a gf, cause he had a kid with her 5 yea... read complete review

So we arrived at the Consulate bring and shinny, me with my huge belly. I was not allowed to sit by any of the poles or on the ground on the line outside so all the people there started protesting and the security gaurd passed us to the front of the line. Went inside had a seat and waited a few hours. No cell phones, or electronics or much of anything else allowed to leave it in the car and park in a secure lot.

I napped through most of the sitting uncomfortably since I was heavily pregnant. When we were finally called we went to a very inprivate booth next to other people and were asked questions. since im so short the interviewer was not able to see i was pregnant. He asked a lot fo questions about how we met, how my husband proposed. How many times we see each other since we were married which was practically weekly, didnt really ask to see wedding pictures. When he saw I was pregnant he calmed down significantly and called his supervisor over, asked us to wait, came... read complete review

First of all thanks to everyone’s good thoughts on my VJ.

I will try to make this as detailed as possible because not all consulates work the same.

We went to Santo Domingo on Thursday morning to pick up my fiancées medical exam results as instructed to do so the day before her appointment. We were at the consultorio de visas for no more than 5 minutes. Super fast. !! So the Next morning we got up early our Appointment was at 6:00am. We walked to the consulate from our hotel. (Hotel Jardines del Teatro is one block away). When we got to the corner there were a few hustlers in the street trying to get us to use there "services" claiming that you need to staple your 2x2 pics to the forms which is total BS. Just say no thanks!!! So it was 515am and there were about 60 people there in line. BTW there is a police officer that will tell you which line you most form. At 615am we get in. we sit down until about 8am when my fiancées name is finally called. We... read complete review

We got to the line at about 5:15am, and there were already about 90 people waiting, and more kept on coming. Nobody was dressed like a hooker or anything like we read about, but most people were wearing jeans (we wore dress pants, dress shirts, and a light sweater for me). We only saw one couple with more evidence than we had--they had a whole big cardboard box full! The buscones were out in full force. The line started moving around 6am. An employee working outside at the line took the first page of everyone's interview packet, and then we were divided into the male/female line. After going through security, I rejoined my husband in the waiting room.

First his name was called to window 13, where a very nice woman took my husband's fingerprints, and then sat back down. About 45 minutes later, his name was called to window 18, where a woman took my husband's documents. She also went over some of the information from our file--confirmed our phone numbers, addresses, the na... read complete review
