our interview was on april 6, 2011 @ 6am.
we stayed at the jardine del teatro hotel which was half a block a way from the embassy. the owner was a very nice attentive lady, and the place is safe, the hotel room costs approx. 60 dollars for one night.
We had arrived at the embassy at 550 am and there was a ine outside, we were told where to stand in line. although in past reviews we read that there were people soliciting outside, but we were not bothered at all. we were called in around 630am, and waited for our names to be called. we were called at about 7am. and we were told that we had the wrong form filled out. the embassy had sent my fiance the wrong packet with form ds 160 which was not what was needed. so we had to leave the consul and print out the form ds-156 at an office we found a block away and they charged us 1,000 pesos. we returned to the consul about 40 minutes later and handed in the proper form.

Apt. 6:45am. Arrived 6am. Checked in and sat and waited. 8:20 Fiance called up to submit his paperwork and pay the 210. Told to have a seat and someone would call him for his fingerprints. Waited another 25 mins and then completed the fingerprint scan. Waited another 20/25 mins and called for interview. Interviewed by a white American Female Age 30-40. Very serious... Asked us to raise our right hand and swear to tell the truth and then ask if we were already married. We answered no then she ask me if I speak Spanish and I told her a little but need to be interviewed in English. Then she asked my fiance if he speaks English and he said yes. At this time she asked me to have a seat and said she would interview him alone. I sat down for what seemed like forever but I guess it was really about 15 or 20 mins. Then she called me back up over the intercom. When I got back up there she told my fiance to have a seat. She asked me
1) Where and how we met
2) When e... read complete review

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic
March 9, 2011
K1 visa interview
Today, Wednesday March 9, 2011, we had our interview at the Santo Domingo Embassy and my fiance's visa was approved!
We arrived to the Embassy around 5:40 am and there were many people waiting in line already. The buscones were kept at the other side of the street and only people who had their interviews were allowed to be on the embassy side of the street. We begun to talk to a few "neighbors" in line and overall people were nice.
Around 6:15 am people were allowed into the building. Most people dressed casually, but some dressed too casually for my taste. Some women did look like they were going to the club (tight jeans and blouses, tops that showed skin and cleavage, club-like high heel shoes, etc.) Some men looked like tigres with their NY baseball caps and printed shirts. I am not saying people ought to wear super formal stuff, but if you are... read complete review
