we arrived at the embassy about 06:30 (our appointment was 06:45, the line was wrapped around the side of the building by then. we patiently waited to make it to the front of the line. by the time we made it thru the metal detectors and seated inside it was about 07:30. we were both pretty nervous so we stared at the monitor that displayed the numbers being called. we were number 779....our number was finally called a little after 08:30. we were called to window 19 and there was a nice lady there who collected all the required paper work. She then told us to go and pay the $210 and bring her the receipt. Once we did that, she told us to have a seat and wait for our number to be called again for fingerprinting.
Around 09:25, we were actually called by name to window 13 for fingerprints…which was pretty quick. And we were back to sitting and waiting again. Time seemed to move soooooo slow. And FINALLY (the moment of truth) we were called to window 21 (it was after 10am... read complete review

our appointment was for 6:45 and we arrived at 6:40. We didn't have to wait in line because we went with our daughter and the people in the yellow info shirts told us to go in with out making the long line, just to seperate at the security area so we can go through the metal detectors. Once we were in our number was called within 10 minutes to window 19 to hand in paper work. A nice American lady asked us if we had children in common and asked to see their birth certificates. Then the sent us to pay the 210 dollars and bring her back the receipt. Then around 8:30 we were called to window 13 for his fingerprints. After he took his fingerprints the lady told us not to go far that we were going to be called again. They called us like 10 minutes later to window 24 i think it was. our interview was at 6:45am..
my husband and I arrive at the consult at about 5:20am we were drop off by my (brother in law) it was about a 10 minute drive from the apartment amazingly there was no traffic. As soon as we got off of the car there were about 4 women screaming from across the street "anyone who has an appoinment at 7:30, 8:30 needs to be standing across from the consult as soon as I heard this I was laughing because I knew they were buscones since they did not have the yellow INFO shirt. So once we were in line there was about 50 people ahead of us. At about 7:10am there was a guy coming around asking for the interview letter and then headed us our lucky number "776". Right when your getting to enter the building they separate the female and male into two different lines, the security area with metal detective is extremely small. Our interview was for 7:30am. We got to the consulate at 6:30am, they had us wait across the street. There was no BUSCONES at that time but I did hear that a family of 4 was suckered into paying for an NVC app @800 pesos and more photos @400 pesos a person. At 7:15am the security guards came to get us and told us to line up in line 2. Our lucky number was 754.
We were called into Window 21 @8:20am to deposit police cert., receipt, medical records, passport and cedula. About 2 hours later we were called to Window 13 to have his fingerprints done. 2 hours after that we were called to Window 22 to be interviewed. This charming slightly long hair young fellow asked us if what were our names. He swore us in and then proceeded to ask my husband if he had family in my city. My husband responded "NO". Again he asked if he was related to the mayor in my city (William Lantigua). Again he said no and I responded "Thank God"!! (those who are from Lawrence, MA would know why lol!!) We got to the consulate about 5Am. We had stayed at my grandmom house in boca
chica. There were ppl there already, but line was not long. The infamous Buscones were already there telling ppl to fill out forms (The only thing we did use them for was for parking. ugh hard finding parking). Everything was very organize. It was not that hot. Wee were first call to window 19 and gave our paperwork such as his cedula, police cert and then ugh, by mistake we brought wrong birth certificate. We left the inextensa home (both his and his son). We sat down and then window 12 to pay the visa. Then 13 for finger print and then we waited. We were call to window 22. We were sworn in.( I saw the green little paper and I knew we were approve). We gave the rest of the documents and they had him signed the papers. We got nervous when they separate us.
