One note before talking about the interview.
The website and instructions both say:
As soon as you have obtained the documents that are applicable in your case, take this sheet to any Banco Popular branch in the Dominican Republic to pay the non-fundable visa application fee of the equivalent of US$140.00 in Dominican pesos and an additional non-refundable fee of US$15.00 (the equivalent in Dominican pesos) plus applicable taxes per applicant. This fee is for the official verification of your records. All applicants must pay the equivalent of US$140.00 fee, but only applicants who will be age 18 or older on the day of their interview need to pay the equivalent US$15.00 fee. Make sure to take the Banco Popular receipt to the Consular Section on the day of your interview.
Note that it says both the $140 fee and the $15 need to be paid at a Banco Popular. We had to go to 3 different banks for them to allow us to pay the $15 one. All the oth... read complete review

Sorry for the delay but it's been more than hectic the last few weeks. thank you all for the prayers, good wishes and congratulations. so like you all know we were aproved
Our appointment was at 7:30 we got to the embassy at 6:45 and asked one of the guys wearing the yellow shirts what to do and he told us to get on that line (the never ending line) he checked the appointment letter and gave us our number... 127, we were in that line for 2 hours :S with the sun right on our faces (thank GOD i had my sunglasses with me) that line moved very slow and when we got close to the entrance we got separated, they send the men to one side and the women too another, because our line moves very slow due to the checking of the purses (ladys, just taking with you the most have/ need too have on me to the interview, that holds up the line) when i finally went in, my baby was saving me a seat because the place was packed; he ... read complete review

Our interview date was 11-15-11. I landed in Santo Domigo on the 11-11-11 trying to make sure I had enough time to gather all the evidence and all the pictures for the interview. We even went over a lot of sample questions that we found online, which is always good because you might know all the answers but they might catch you off guard with an intimate question if you don't know what to expect.
On the day of the interview we arrived at the consulate at approximately 5:10am. We where scheduled for 6:45am so we figured that an hour and a half was more than enough time to get in. There was already a line of about 40-50 people in front of us and after we got there the line just kept growing exponentially by the minute. By 5:45 there were already what seemed like over 200 people behind us.
**A word of advice: if you're not scheduled for 6:45 DO NOT arrive so early. The don't allow people with interviews after 7:00 to get on the line until all the 6:00 peop... read complete review

Our appointment was at 9:30AM which I was skeptical about since most appointments are between 6:15am and 7:30AM. My husband lives in the capital so we drove to our interview We parked across from the embassy in a private garage and were in line at 7:40AM. While we were there I recognized a couple from visa journey and my husband and I approached them to say hi. The line began to move and we were in the embassy at 8:00AM. At around 10:30AM we were called to window 16 to turn in his medical and his police report. The lady returned previous year tax returns and the pack of pictures I had mailed in. She asked if we had any children together and we said no. She asked us to have a seat and that we would be called by our number. I was a little disappointed because I was looking for the green ticket and didn't see it. 5 minutes later she called us back to window 16 by my husband's name and gave him a piece of paper and told him to take it to window 13 to get his fingerprints. I stayed seated ... read complete review
