My husband will write a more detailed review at a later time, and also the consulate/embassy is not listed in the options for the review to be listed accordingly, but here I go anyway.

My husband said that his interview was everything he didnt expect. He was prepared for the worse. Had letters and tons of pictures with details on the back of each one. They even told him that there was no question about our relationship after reviewing all of his 'evidence'!! They asked him some questions about me and my children, even asked about my children being biracial, if their father was also from Africa....lol things like that. They asked him what he would be doing for work when he arrives, but the thing they did say to him is that they wanted to be certain that his intentions were genuine.

I thought that was interesting since they said there was no question about our relationship, but yet they needed to know if his intentions were genuine. I think they just needed... read complete review

Consulate is Kinshasa, its not listed in the drop down options....Anyway, my husband had his interview on March 24th, 2014 and it went well. They only asked a few questions but said our relationship was not even a question! They did want to know if he was using me to enter the US...I knew that question would come up!But everything went fine, they asked about the kids and when we met but that's about it. Maybe my husband will come back and give a better review but after everything we went thru tho this point it was a relief that the interview was not an issue. They congratulated him at the end and was given a paper telling him when he could come back to pick up his passport!! javascript:emoticon('')

So excited that he will be here next week!! Pick up Passport with Visa and documents on April 1st, leave Kinshasa on April 2nd, be in his arms by April 3rd!!javascript:emoticon('')

I Personally believe the consulate operates just a the government in that country -To the only difference of corruption-. The local staff in contrast to the Americans is very arrogant and unable to provide a good service. Each time you call there, the lady keeps on telling you that - you are calling us during an interview time, like it was my business to know-. The CHIEF officer is a young dude from NY who is in his 30's who will pick up the phone and tells you "the CO is not available, therefore you need to talk to one of his staff member. My experience there was not the best and I don't even need to meet with the people there.
-The security guards outside are bunch of idiots, they too have a negative role in the whole process of this consulate, they harassed my wife several times, by privately asking her phone number every time she went there. I pray God every day so I don't have to deal with that place in my life.
-The CO still in the process of learning the local lang... read complete review

Republic of Congo - Brazzaville
Interview process was super easy. I called the embassy to check on the documents and after that, the CO and I emailed back and forth regularly to let us know what he needed, what needed to be corrected, etc. Lars told him that he had a flight out and they worked hard to accomodate that. There never was a real "interview" - they asked him a few questions about being denied entry last year (visa waiver abuse) and that was pretty much it.
