  1. I got pulled over today for not pulling into the fast lane while passing a cop on the side of the road, she said I needed to get an international drivers license from MVA (I didn't know they existed, I just had my Australian drivers license). When she came back to the car she gave me a warning for not pulling into fast lane and said I have to get a Maryland drivers license within 2 years.... Maybe I won't get a maryland drivers license afterall...

  2. Since my interview on Tuesday I have been religiously checking tracking number on my passport/visa return parcel from US Consulate, so far nothing and I had almost given up hope in making it to USA by Sunday to go to an event I had been bought tickets for months ago, just got a txt from Mum saying she picked up my parcel from the post office! (Guess they never activated tracking number)

Soooo now I have alot of packing to do, flying out either tomorrow or day after... not sure yet, probably Saturday i'll fly out. Thanks everyone for the help! Now for next step, AOS haha

  3. I was just wondering what peoples experience has been so far with getting the visa in hand after your interview in Sydney. I have my interview 9am this Tuesday and wondering how long after I can expect the visa. I live in VIC but that shouldn't effect the time too much, depends whether the visa is sent out on a specific day or on random days. I am trying to be in USA by Sunday as I have tickets to an event on that day that was purchased as a gift some time ago. Think I have a good chance to get the visa by friday? If not earlier?

  4. I have founded United the cheapest at the moment, got my visa interview in 2 days, and then I am planning to book a flight 1-2 days after receiving my visa, looking at prices I dont think I will be paying more than $1650 (I have 10% off voucher so looking at around $1500. I just search directly on the United website and book through them.

  5. Thanks EmmaLouise. I called again this morning and I was given an appointment for 9am the next day! So I'm very happy

Yeah I called as well and they told me just to call up the police station near me and get a fingerprint/name check done. Make sure they take your fingerprints as well as do a name check, I had to convince the officer that I needed fingerprints taken as well.

I got the results back fairly quick, within a week or so.

  6. how are you getting your medical done without your NOA2?? x

I was just getting stuff ahead of time, thought I would have my NOA2 by now but I guess no....

In Victoria don't need case number for police check or medical, so I went ahead and got them done.

Now I am just waiting on my NOA2!! Ps Callie surprised me for me 23rd bday on thursday :) 5 Months since I had seen her, so shes here for a month which is good!

But yeah been nearly 5.5 Months since NOA1

  7. How does this sound for my co-sponsor:

    Question 11 I-134:

I intend: To support Derek financially and in any other way possible until both him and his fiancee can support themselves independently and won't become a public charge.

    And my finacee (sponsor):

I intend: To do everything I can to support Derek financially until he can legally work and the responsibility can be shared.

  8. Good Morning everyone,

I am double checking everything, like I always do! I think if I could have opened our sealed petition, and sealed packet 3 to check one more time I would have! I tell you, this process makes temporary crazy people out of us

My question of the day is for Question 11 on the I-134 form did you all follow the example forms and leave the boxes blank (I intend, do not intend) and in the line below type in N/A K1 visa process for permanent residence.I noted on other threads people checked intend and below wrote comments such as 'fully support so the beneficiary will not become a public charge'.

I bought a sturdy accordian type file and have everything neatly labeled and placed so documents are at my fingertips if the consulate officer asks. This will also come in handy for AOS.

    Have a nice day,

    Lise

I am also interested in peoples opinions on this question.

  9. Not sure why you need W2 this is for AOS after you marry in the US. 134 in OZ is just letter of employment, bank letter stating when the account opened and branch and the bank will print this out for you. Your fiance B/C notarized yes. Not sure about Melbourne you can call and ask first . I was lucky in Sydney I was able to et it done with no case number. Don't forget to get your police report as well now.

    Thankyou very much.

Yup I am getting onto the police report now.

Had injections all ready for medical today.

Thankyou for your help, I have just heard alot about people providing W2 along with their I-134.

But I am guessing it must be different for australia, thanks again!

  10. For the I-134 is a letter from the bank also needed?

    Stating:

    1. Date account opened

    2. How much has been deposited over the past year

    3. Current balance

I trying to gather all the required information and workout EXACTLY what I actually need.

So far this is the list I have, please advise me if there is any extra. I will be needing a Co-sponsor as well

So both sponsor & co-sponsor need to gather for me:

    1. Letter from employer

    2. Letter from Bank

    3. W2

    4. Pay stubs

    5. Birth certificate

Tax returns only needed if self employed??

Also which of these need to be notorized? Just the birth certificate if its a copy?

Anyone know if Melbourne medical can be done ahead of time without case number?

  12. I'm thinking not to lose hope here Callie. They might be behind some weeks but if you look at the Berk stats, there are weeks where VSC has more approvals than CSC.

http://cse.ssl.berkeley.edu/igor/vjdata/stats.aspx It seems they have picked up and both were even last week; this week is not over yet, so the numbers for now are not complete for the week. I still am in prayer that we all come out smelling like roses and hopeful yet. :innocent:

What was the English Gov't's WW2 message to the people?

"Remain Calm and Carry On" (I always liked that statement)

    love ya,

    Mari

Thanks for the link, didn't know about this page :).

And by the way I'm Derek, Callie is in the USA organising the wedding, I've pretty much been the one doing all the visa stuff haha.

Visa in hand before October 29th please :)
