  1. Hi Chancy,

Thanks for your reply. My mother's "Registration number" in her SB1 visa is different from her green card number.

Her current green card would be expiring in 2027. You said she doesn't have to pay for new green card per: https://my.uscis.gov/uscis-immigrant-fee

Then how the "new registration number" in SB1 visa would resolve with the old one in her "Green Card". Please share your thoughts. Thanks.

  2. Hi, My mother got SB1 (returning resident visa) in January and then immigrant visa yesterday. She still has old green card with her and consular didn't ask for it during immigrant visa interview.. Do she have to surrender it in anywhere? Also, in approval letter it stated that she has to pay $220. Is it applicable for SB1 category of immigrant visa? Is there new green card would be issued? Please share your experience. Thank a lot

  3. I am on the same boat. My mother in Bangladesh more than one year with unexpired green card but without any re-entry permit. I am thinking to get her on the flight with me but

I am concerned about immigration check by Bangladesh Authority on exit and the Airlines authority on letting he to board the plane. I know it would not be issue with CBP in USA but worried about the first two.

Anybody has this experience, please share

  4. Hi,

My mother-in-laws case are with NVC. All the document from petitioner and applicant been submitted and status shows that "submitted" since November.

There is no update from NVC and they are processing January/February cases. Why they fall behind on our case. Knocked NVC through email and no reply.

Any thoughts or experience lately with NVC.

  5. Hi,

I am a naturalized us citizen and staying in Texas for last 20 years. My mom got her green card in 2005 through me.

She is out of USA since last December and would not be back in USA this year because of COVID-19.

I am thinking about try to apply returning resident visa after COVID-19 vaccine gets distributed for the public.

My question is what are the steps of for returning resident visa (SB1), looks like after SB1 approved we need to file immigration visa.

I am confused about immigration visa part after SB1. After SB1 gets approved can she travel back to USA. Or she has to do the immigrant visa processing in consulate/nvc before she returns to USA.

Please clarify on this. Thanks in advance.

  6. Fellow Friend,

My wife had to go through Immigration Medical for K1 Visa at US Consolute. We expected vaccinatioin worksheet would be just enough for Adjustment of Status. But, we got a reference today asking for I693 from MSC. Did any of you experience similar situation? Our local office is San Antonio'TX but she got the reference from MSC and asked to send I693 back in MSC.Please share your experience/thoughts Thanks.
