  1. hi, i have a question and i need help.

for the affidavit, in the part 11, intend, do not intend to make specific contributions to the support of the person(s) named in item 3. the example says write N/A. my fb wrote something silly about give me money until i get a job...

so, i'm not sure about what to write there.

    thanks for the help.

  3. there is something called "cultural shock" and it happens to almost everybody that moves to another country. it is normal, you can google it, it has 4 stages, the more you know about it, the more you will be able to go through. i worked in usa for one year, and our counselors talked about that in every conversation.

    my advise.

dont isolate, find something to do, a job, a class, a sport.

dont call home every single day, you are gonna miss them so badly. instead, read the news paper, take a bus, go to the museums, get to love your new home.

make friends, meet your neighbors, a welcome party is the best way to do it. according to my experience, americans are super hospitable and nice (especially in minnesota eehhhmmm)

be a volunteer! is so fun. in the schools, hospitals, churches.

there are plenty of activities to do, you can not depend of your husband for everything, you have to be able to go when and where you want. independence is the key. or you are gonna feel neglected just if he prefers to watch baseball one sunday instead go out.

it is hard i know, but it is worse try to skype when internet is bad :P

good luck to all of you

  4. hey, thanks for all the info, i've thought about this the hole night and i think i should wait, the tuition is expensive and i need all the scholarships, aids, grants and loans i can get... well i think i need to wait the U to consider and study my case for some advise; but i know, even for a attorney this is kinda tricky.

sundrop, i would like know more details, if you want, of your own experience i need some tools i case the ask me things i dont know.

thanks again to all of you

  5. i applied to a college in the US, and i filled a k1 visa, so, i can not get a student visa. in the best scenario, i will get the US in july, then wedding, then filing AOS. the green card take 3 months or so to arrived, again, in the best scenario, but in the college website they say, "You must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or an eligible non-citizen, i.e., U.S. permanent resident with an Alien Registration Card I-551, a conditional permanent resident with an I-551C card, possess Arrival Departure Record I-94 from the Immigration and Naturalization Service one of the following designations: asylum granted, parole, refugee, entrant from Cuba or Haiti." it is the same for applying to a grant, student loan, aid, or scholarship.

between the AOS and the green card, i'm able to work with the right documentation, my question is, how about college, federal aids or grants???? i have to wait until summer term to start college??? that would be sad :(

    thanks for any help.

    Tatiana
