  1. Not sure if this is the right location to post this or not...but here's my question.

My fiancee arrived on K1 visa three weeks ago and we got married two weeks ago. We are not applying for her AOS and trying to fill out I693 (Page 1 and Page 5). We went to our family doctor and he filled out page 1 and page 5. Although, on page 5 (D3025) he checked the box that says "vaccine history complete for each vaccine".....so here's my question. My fiancee had her medical exam done in India and they also gave her a copy of the D3024 but that says "Vaccine History Incomplete" but also has "applicant may be eligible for blanket waiver because vaccinations not medically appropriate".

So which one should I submit with the 1693? The one that the doctor from the US signed or the one from her medical exam in India. I'm thinking USCIS already has the D3025 from India...so now I'm confused.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    M.

  2. My fiancee just got approved for K1 and will be coming here next month. I can't seem to figure out how long the AOS process takes. I have gone through all the service centers and looked under 485 but none of them say anything regarding k1 visa. I live in Michigan if that makes any difference. Let's say we get married on October 15th and send in the application by October 30. When do you guys thing she would have the green card in her hand.

    Thanks,

    M.

  3. Not sure about what needs to be done pre and post marriage but I definitely recommend you go to india in November and get married there. K1 is a very risky visa. We almost got rejected because they thought we are married even though we are not. We took a vacation together with family but somehow they thought that that was the honeymoon. My fiancees interview lasted for 8 hours. I wouldn't recommend K1 to anyone anymore.

  4. So I should've asked this question a long time ago and not the day before the interview...I read a lot of reviews saying "I reached VFS at 6 30 am as I had a 7 30 am appointment. The bus came at 7 10, we reached the consulate by 7 20."......I thought we go directly to the Consulate...Here's what it says on the consulate website... "Applicants are notified of their scheduled appointments through the mail and should come to the Consulate on the morning of the interview at their scheduled appointment time."

And now i'm even more confused...

This is for the Mumbai consulate by the way.

  5. Hey,

We applied for a K1 visa. We did not have a lot of pictures together before the engagement because we got engaged on my last day in India in January. I did go back in May to visit and have a lot more pictures so my fiancee is planning on taking those to the interview on Sept 7th. VFS doesn't accept a lot of proof when you turn in packet 4 documents so my fiancee will take those with her when she goes for the interview.

We have gone through a lot of questions from the embassy reviews so hopefully that will help. What did you say when they asked you why you want to get married there and not India? Are you parents going to US for the wedding?

Based on your earlier posts, my fiancee will be taking the following documents to the interview.

1 Notarized explanation from you and your petitioner of how and when you first met and why you decided to get engaged.

2 List of all engagement ceremony guests, their relationship to you, their addresses and their phone numbers.

3 Itemized emails and/or postmarked letters or cards between you and your fiancee.

4 Photos of you and the petitioner before, during, and after your engagement.

5 Notarized statement signed by the applicant's parents discussing their views of the engagement.

6 Notarized copy of your fiancee's passport.

7 Voter's ID card and Voter's list for the past 5 years of the beneficiary.

8 Album of the engagement party and pictures showing on-going relationship

    9 Emails/phone logs

    Any other advise?

  6. Here's the response I got from the Mumbai consulate regarding the PCC situation. Not sure what this really means though.

"We have forwarded your email to the concern person for action.

    Thank you for your inquiry

    Sincerely yours

    Immigrant Visa Unit"

I hope this means that they are going to contact the Ahmedabad office (which I highly doubt)...Any ideas?

  7. Have you taken copies of the embassy website describing what the K1 visa is and what is required?

Here is the website that details where you can file complaints about this office:

    Good luck!

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, the lady in the link is the one giving us the issues.

    Hi flyingm14

I dont know much about K1 visa procedere but Do you have any letter for missing document list from us embassy/nvc asking for PCC ?

    Regards

    Hi,

One of the requirements for packet 4 is the pcc.

    M.

  8. I hope i am not asking too much but I was hoping someone would scan in the pcc ( please blank out any personal information, passport number, etc) so My fiancé can take it and show the new passport officer in Ahmedabad that K1 is not an illegal visa and the Ahmedabad office did used to issue pcc for a k1 visa. Some of you might know that there's a lady who just became the regional passport officer at Ahmedabad and has no clue what an K1 visa is....she denied my fiancé and three other girls that were with her to get the pcc for k1 visa saying she does not recognize the visa type and will not issue the pcc.

Again, please blank out any personal information. I am just hoping I could have my fiancé go and show the damn lady ath the passport office someone else's pcc. Our interview is on the 7th of Septmber.

    Thanks,

    M.

  9. They dont need to know why you need a PCC... its a standard service that is provided by the passport offices...

I wish that was the case. They only let you in the passport office if you have an appointment letter in Ahmedabad. We have the "Misc" service paperwork filled out and everything and the RPO just isn't budging. We have no clue what to do. We have everything else ready.....

My fiance is just gonna go to the interview on the 7th without the PCC and pray to god that we get the visa. I emailed the consulate asking me to send a pdf letter requesting the PCC and hopefully my fiance can take that to the passport office and try again.
