I love meeting new people, going new places and doing new things! Life is short and there's so much of it to experience that I'm never bored and almost always planning my next adventure.

  • Our Story
After graduating from high school, my closest girlfriends and I took a trip to Cancun, Mexico in August 2005 to celebrate our accomplishment & independence as adults! A rowdy group of Englishmen were also vacationing in Cancun and maybe it was the accent, maybe it was the charm, maybe it was the alcohol? Anyway you put it, we all had an amazing time dancing, drinking and playing in the ocean til the sun came up. Who would have thought I'd meet the man I want to spend the rest of my life with on vacation?! It was so wonderfully surreal and amazing, could not imagine leaving each other. We had the same departure date and with a tearful goodbye and exchange of contact info, we decided we would try to keep in touch... from London to Orange County. Over the next 4 months we became extremely close and the same group of Cancun Englishmen came to visit their Cali girls for 2 weeks in December 2005 and that trip solidified our bond and our long distance relationship started.
Although my heart was based in London, my university was based in CA and I was determined to graduate so over the last 5 years we have taken turns here and there: summer traveling europe, a study abroad in london, 2 lots of 90 days in Cali, a student work visa in London and other stints of weeks or month visits here and there when finances would allow. We know all about the challenges that come with a transatlantic romance and we have been doing it for years. We feel we are actually a stronger couple for it because we value the important things about each other and prioritize our lives according to our goals.
Now that we've hit our five year mark and have accomplished many of our own personal goals, we feel we are both old enough and financially ready to work towards our relationship's ultimate goal: marriage and a life together in the US.
In the past we have looked into the process and been overwhelmed by the paperwork and processing and maze that is the K-1 & etc. I know I'll probably be doing most of the work towards the K-1 visa but I'm here for guidance, support and advice about processing my Englishman through the USCIS storm. I know both our countries are extremely desirable places to be so I can understand why they make it so hard to get in... but that doesn't mean I like it and REALLY doesn't mean I'm not annoyed with it! ;]
Anyway, sorry about the novel but we are really legit and just want to be together! We are ready~ let us happen please!

    MY PRIME QUESTIONS:

    1. Is a lawyer really necessary for processing or can I save the $1k for our destination wedding?! :]

    2. Because I've been a student and do not have much for financial recourse, my parents will be sponsoring my boyfriend's K-1. How do I process that?

    3. After we're married, he is allowed to still travel outside the country right? We are very close to his family and will need to travel for wedding arrangements and etc.
