Embassy wouldn't accept waiver today. They said we had to have finace's court documents and police records translated into English. I thought the waiver was about the US citizen. Oh well, I guess we file next week.

So, I hired a lawyer to help with the I-601. However, I'm feeling disheartened. I got so many negative comments on the hardship letter I wrote, but now the lawyer says it's great. I'm confused

Finally some good news. The embassy gave Yelkin his passport and original documents. That's such a relief.

Thanks He's got an appointment tomorrow to "talk" with the consular...I'm so nervous.

No acceptance or denial yet on the visa. We've been told we'll have to wait more time until they can look at all the documents. This gives me a liitle hope.

So, my fiance brought the requested papers to the embassy today. He was told to bring more papers and that most likely we'll be denied. I feel like for some reason they don't want him to come. He's already had two tourist visas denied. I'm trying to keep hope, but I'm starting to break :'(

Well, embassy is requesting taxes from past two years for me and cosponsor. Also he has to get another form from a court proving he owes nothing to government. They kept ALL other documents. Update, when I can talk with him more...
