  1. Hi!!!!!!

So here I am sitting in Houston airport after almost 20 hours of flying so far...only 3 to go...!

Anyway POE LAX - easy peasy - the officer looked only about 12 years old but he actually knew his stuff......it was a simple as checking that i knew my fiance's name (luckily I did) and that was it really, no questions, no secondary, i even got a congratulations......

Thank **** that this is over for a few weeks.....

  2. Wow, congrats!

Do they give you your passport back with the visa in it there and then in NZ then? We (UK) have to wait for a courier to deliver it, which can take up to 10 days!

NZ's Consulate is awesome - my paperwork already had a huge red stamp saying approved on it. The interviewing officer was fantastic and even made jokes. I would have hardly have called it an interview either, it all seemed so easy compared to the wait!

I am popping back in today to collect my passport, I could have had it couriered but choose to collect it since I am flying out on Friday. So 24 hours is all it takes yay!

I cant believe you guys all have to wait so long for interviews - I really am feeling for you all

    xx

  3. LOL sheesh where did I get that reputation!? LOL

OK no growling here... I spent hours working on K's DS-230 and the issue was where he was outside TR for longer than 6 mos which had been a FEW times working on base. I didn't even until I went onto the next question where it asks for all his work information for the past 10 years! That's when I realized I had to go back and rewrite the last question. I ran out of space. So I did what Bec suggested and just added a sheet with proper header info. Seems to be fine but K was in the naughty chair until today for not helping me with the Army info! Piss me off ..... :bonk:

    Anyway, yours looks good!

    Mari

Hahaha I thought you would like that :-)

I guess I was just more worried about how it looks like I was just wandering around Country to Country for about a year.

I have def had to add in another sheet of paper - it is a huge list haha

I leave for NZ on the 31st May and will have my interview on the 7th June so I really need to get moving - The Auckland consulate is AMAZING....they emailed me everything I needed before they have received anything from NVC - YAY for them

    Hope you are well girl

  4. Unless you legitimately can list your parents address where you were receiving your mail while you traveled or a similar permanent residence, I would do what you done. If you run out of room, you'll have to attach a separate piece of paper with some specific information on it as a header so that they can tie it to the form. I can forward you how my attorney did it as a sample (although it was for another form) if it will help you.

By the way, reading your post made me jealous...wish I had that problem! :D

That would be fantastic if you dont mind to forward yours? I think I am going to have a few extra sheets of paper to attach - I have just started on previous visits to the USA lol

It makes me all jealous as well - looking back.....ahh to be young and carefree again

    Thank :-)

  5. Hey everyone,

I have a wee question......and before you growl me Mari yes i have researched (for hours) looking for the correct answer and cant find either a right or wrong one, so I just wanted some opinions.

This is regarding the DS-230 question 30 - list all the places you have lived for at least 6 months since you were 16...

I spent over many months travelling the world and was in many many different Countries, my longest stop was 4 months in London... but when filling my form out it obviously looks like I was missing for year or very transient - is this ok do you think?

    my form dates read:

    03-1996 - 04-2000

    04-2000 - 01-2003

    02-2004 - 05-2005

    05-2005 - 01-2010

    01-2010 - 12-2010

    12-2010 - present

so from 01/2003 through to 02/2004 were my travelling dates.........

Anybody got any thoughts on this?

    Thanks xxxxx

    Jen

  6. Well, March and this year, April, suck in Ohio. I live in Columbus...it has not been a pleasant weather month. But just wait! Summer and Fall are AWESOME!!! If you are going to be living in Ohio when you move here, make sure you get to a Buckeye game and when someone shouts O-H at you, make sure you shout back I-O :D

March and April more than sucked.........but today finally it is warm!! Long may it last. We will be here (Ohio) for another year then we are thinking about somewhere warmer!!

    Take care!

  8. Hey Mari,

Sorry for the delay.....I have been enjoying the sunshine at last - it is still pretty cold here though

Anyway - secondary questioning at San Fran.......

Lined up at immigration, had the usual questions, why are you here and for how long - I said to visit my fiance and for 55 days. The agent (whom might i add looked about 21 years old) told me I couldn't not get married here, I told him I was well aware of the law and said we had applied for our K1. He didn't know what a K1 was!!!! Took my fingerprints and then said walk down there - someone else is going to question you.

Walked down to a pokie looking room with about 12 other people in it - walked straight up to the counter, produced my return flight details, a letter stating when I was due back at work and of course our NOA1...the agent who looked even younger than the first looked mighty confused and again said I cant get married, I told him I had no intentions of marrying this trip or at all until we had our visa in hand.

He told me to take a seat and he went to his boss, his boss was stationed in the room also (it was all kind of open planned) the first officer told him all my details and why I was there, he looked at my NOA1 looked up at me, smiled then turned to his worker and said "of course she can visit him you idiot" Then to me he said sorry about this and congratulations on being engaged and he hoped I had a great visit.

Quite easy really - but after a 13 hour plane ride I was getting pretty edgy.

Needless to say he stamped my passport for the 90 days so I decided that I am just going to stay here with my man and wait out the NOA2 which we are hoping will be before the 90 days are up - YAY!!!

    lOVE YA XXX

  9. LOL Jen! I didn't reprimand you, I lovingly encouraged you to come say hello! Besides, I wanted to check in on you since the earthquake hit. I saw the news this morning and hope that you and all your family are safe. Jen, Please let us know when you are here (for your visit), and give us an update of Kiwi-land. OK?

Kiwi-land (well parts of it) is really not in a great place right now, but thankfully with very generous offers from Australia, Britian, Japan, Taiwan and of course the USA rescue efforts are in full swing!! Thank God for all of these amazing Country's!!!! I just hope that everyone can be saved!

Only a few more sleeps until my big trip and I just can't wait to see my honey, although it all seems to pale into insignificance compared to what many are going through a few hours up the road from me.

I will give an update when I get through regarding my POE since I am travelling on the VWP

    Love ya all

    Jen xxx

  10. Hi all!!

I have been suitably reprimanded by Mari for being so slack...so I am back and saying hi to everyone!!!!

I am off to see my honey in 2 weeks and cant wait.

Not sure if any of you have heard but a New Zealand city had a devastating earthquake a few hours ago and already the death toll is at 65 - our friends in the USA and Australia have already sent help and prayers and I am hoping you all have a few spare as well.

    Take care all

    Xx
