  1. Hey Xena, here in WV I needed my SSN and EAD to get my learner's permit...you should call their toll-free # or go to their website and check what are all the rules. I did that and had no problem this time, has been almost a week...

On our side here, Monday I was able to call USCIS and put a service request on my AOS.... If it helps anyone, I was past the 6 months mark and when I previously called USCIS they told me on what specific date the local office that was handling my application was working on (after it was transferred to CSC) and when I could put a service request on it...Anyway, I hope everybody hear good news soon and good lucky everyone!

@Carolina--Congrats on the learner's permit. Thanks for the tips; Inday also needs to get learner's permit. Continuing good luck and best wishes to you in regards to AOS!! --RK

  2. Received a text a few mins ago, saying my case was updated, and then received an email, saying:

On August 2, 2012, we ordered production of your new card...You can expect to receive your card/document within 30 days of the approval of your application.

So Happy to have received this. Good luck to everyone else waiting on news like this.

@mahyland--Many, many congrats to you!!!!!! --RK&Inday

  3. My EAD and AP have got approved today! A month exactly after the biometrics.

In fact, I got an email saying Card production ordered for the EAD, and another email then saying my AP was approved. It's a little confusing but as EAD/AP should be a combo card, I don't worry about it. :)

@didopage--Hurray!! Many congrats!! Even though CSC transfer here, your good news still gives me and I know all the rest of us hope that our time will come. --RK&Inday

  4. @Xera--wishing you the best in all. Re: drivers' license: Don't know what you've tried already, but some individuals here on VJ plus a personal acquaintance of mine have found that presenting the I-797c ("NOA") for the AOS submission is sufficient for some Motor Vehicles offices to issue license [even before EAD/GC receipt]. Best of luck wished to you in all aspects of this process. --RK & Inday

  5. joining the group waiting for EAD or interview notice

Does anyone received email like this:

    Your Case Status: Initial Review

The I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

I-30 from CSC then NBC then this email?? didn't say what office though.. any idea?thanks

mrsGORE--Welcome to the group. Unfortunately, have no ideas about your question. Hopefully, someone else here will be able to help you out with your question. Best wishes to you. --RK & Inday

  6. Hi all,

We have applied for the I-485, I-765 and I-131..biometrics..july 16 2012...a letter in postbox date[d]: july 10 2012: "This is to advice you that in order to speed up processing we have transferred the above case to the following USCIS office for processing : California Service Center..."

Hope your all getting your approval soon

    Love

    Johanna and John

Hohn and Johanna--Thank you for the good wishes. Regarding CSC transfer, you may be interested in the following thread:

Wishing you best of luck and speediest journey possible on your own visa journey.

  7. @Christine84--Don't think the wording matters, nevertheless wrote our letters of intent each worded in our own style of writing. More importantly, we did as others have described in this thread especially Jay-Kay's recommendation: we signed in blue ink and made sure an indentation in paper occurred. Furthermore, we printed and signed (in blue ink) additional copies to keep for ourselves so we, too, would have originals in our records. Best wishes and continuing luck to you on your visa journey! --RK and Inday

  8. My fiancee passed her seminar yesterday and it tookntwo days. Let me start by saying that this step in the process has given me the biggest heartburn and has made me mad. I'm hoping the new changes coming September 15th will do some good...

...So she went back the second day gave them what they wanted and she received her competion paperwork. They informed her after her visa she can come back there to get her sticker until Sep 15th because after that locations will change.. I still thing we should have went to Hong Kong on a small vacation and then States bound, and see what happened..

I am very glad to hear that your fiancee--and you--were able to finally "check off the box" for this guidance/counseling part of CFO requirement. Be glad to know that getting the "sticker" is relatively painless. Took Inday about one hour at the office to obtain the sticker. However, we still scheduled flight to U.S. well after the day of obtaining sticker just in case! Best of continuing luck and success to you and your fiancee!! --RK and Inday

  9. @berhanu--Thank you for backing up penguin_le plus the additional very good ideas.

@ceadsearch--Thanks for verifying interview for CSC transferees unlikely. As most of us here know, when it comes to this process all bets are off. (I am being extra cautious, would hate to be one of the unlikely situation cases and get caught off guard!) However, your response and confirming info does indeed help add a bit of comfort. Again, thanks for the input!!

@Ahn map--Thank you for the input. Thank you for the response to my current question and I want to take this opportunity to also thank you for all your responses to many others over the years [reading many of your previous responses to others also previously helped Inday and myself, even from the very beginning of this whole process.]

  10. Fellow VJ Members,

Background: Writing this is RK, US citizen husband of Inday; Inday is K1 visa recepient, currently in AOS process as detailed in (signature) timeline below. Notably, Inday's case has been transferred to CSC (California Service Center) for processing.

Current situation: my job situation requires I must work outside of the U.S. this fall, on an ocean platform ("at sea") in Asia, continuously from about mid-September to mid-December. Furthermore, over the next several years my job likely will require me to be outside U.S. and at sea as described one or two times each year, each time continuously for about three months.

Two Questions: If my job situation conflicts with requiring my presence (in U.S.) during any part of the AOS process (e.g., AOS interview) or may affect any part of the process then:

    (1) what potential conflict(s)/complications can I/Inday expect?

    (2) what must I/Inday do now to prepare or do later to meet any potential conflicts?

I know nothing is certain in this process and I have read various potential related threads here on VJ and have only thus far gotten general idea of possible answer(s) to above question so wanted to ask the above questions directly. I thank you any and all for any input you may be able to supply.

  11. Andie & Lookie--Sorry to know you are still at this point in process but wanted you to know still thinking & praying for you and your loved ones. You've certainly not been forgotten. That being said, I also second Looky's recent optimistic points. -RK

@Looky--Again, glad to know Loreta got interview date & you've decided to be there around the time of her interview. I still think your decision to avoid mentioning dates is very wise; probably would be just as wise to avoid mentioning time frames as well because of all that has happened. We here all know that after Loreta has gone to interview and done whatever else needs to be done, you will let us know what has been accomplished. Specific prayers, wishes, and cheering squad encouragements for now scheduled interview!!! -RK

  12. I just figured out a quick way to check on your case statuses. I combined the search query from the URL when logged in to USCIS with the URL from when you're not logged in, and got:

    https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard/CaseStatus.do?appReceiptNum=MSC1290820165

Just replace the case number in that URL with each of yours.

Cool! Thanks for the tip. Anything that makes any part of--or anything associated with--this process easier is truly appreciated! --RK&Inday

  13. Greetings all,

Joining the CSC transferree club today :) . Just received the I-797C stating "in order to speed up processing we have transferred the above case to the following USCIS office for processing: California Service Center..." and so on.

S'pose will be seeing you all around this thread for awhile :) Continuing good luck to all AOSers and particularly to all in this same [CSC transfer] boat.
