we have a relative here waiting on their AOS approved, and they got their covid vaccine in their home country. The problem is that it's been almost a year since their second dose, and the vaccine that they got did not have strong results to begin with (U.S is much better).
question:
1. Can a foreigner get the vaccine in the U.S? How much will it be if they do not have insurance?
2. Since they already had prior doses, what is the most cost effective way to speak to a medical professional about whether they should get vaxed again? Are their low cost or subsidized medical care we can look into? I've visited a doctor without insurance, so unsure who to ask or what to look for

If we have a relative already here visiting and we want to submit to adjust their status, is there a timeline we need to do it by, before their visitor visa expries?
for example, if a relative's visitor visa expires in April 2022, is it too late if I submit the forms in Feb or March 2022

If I have a mother in the U.S on a visitor visa, is it just a matter of a filling out the 485, or will there be quite a bit of questions and scrutiny during the application process? I am a U.S citizen. I'm just wondering if it is just a matter of filling out the form and paying the fees and show documentation, or whether there will be a lot of complications and questions.

I have an in-law coming to live with us for potentially 6months-1 year. This person is not a u.s resident, so is coming in as a foreign visitor.
from a health insurance standpoint, what options does she have? Is she eligible for Obamacare? Would love to take any recommendations

Other then the civic exam and English ‘test’, what else can we expect to happen during the interview? Do they still ask about relationship to try to prove it is authentic? Do they ask about history, or ask things you need to know about your spouse?
woild appreciate any heads up

technically, the difference between the mailed copy and the online copy is that the mail copy will come with a cover letter.

My wife is having her citizenship Interview/exam next week. We have all the originals of marriage certificates, passport etc, but not original tax documents. Copies of these and other things like mortgage were submitted as supporting evidence
whats the chance that they will ask to see the originals?

When checking my case status online, I still get the message that they received my packet on June 2016, and that we will receive notification for biometrics. I submitted my case in june, and I already completed my biometrics in July. I also already have the extension letter.
will there be another case update status online?
Do we just wait now without anything else that needs to be done?

When I, u.s citizen, and my spouse, greenCard holder, travel together, which line do we line up with at customs, if we want to stick together? Does she go to the citizen line, or do I go to the LPR line? What if we add her mom, a visitor to the mix? Can we all use the same line?

thank you. and 2 last questions:
1. I had my apartment email me copies of my leases. instead of sending signed copies, they sent me the original application with our names. Should I go ahead and sign them?
2. Has anyone had trouble registering on the IRS Site, in order to download the tax transcripts? when I register, I get to the final stage where it asks to verify me by my phone number, and when I do, I get a message that they can't verify my phone number with my name. I'm sure that my name is correct, but just don't know what the problem is.
-
thanks for the replies.
Question:
For the evidence such as phone bills, bank statements, credit card statements, insurance pages, should I submit all of it in it's entirety (possibly hundreds pages of documents), or just include the cover page that shows them what they want to see?
-
Putting my evidence together and hoping someone can look over and give feedback.
Here is what I have that has both of our names together:
Apartment lease for 3 different places the past 2 years
phone bill: every 3 months for the past 2 years
car and renters insurance: every renewal for the past 2 years
checking account: every 3 months for past 2 years
health insurance: join names for the past 2 years
credit card: every 3 months for past 2 years
trips: 3 trips over the past 2 years
IRS - pending since website is down.
misc pictures.
Would you guys suggest any other evidence, or is this enough?
My concerns:
No affidavits. We don't have much friends.
Photos: we don't do a lot of pictures/selfies, so we have minimal pictures of us together....but I can probably provide photos of us, separately.....but together in the same place........
electric bill: I can get a screenshot of her as a secondary user, but I don't have something to show she was on the account over the past 2 years.
life insurance beneficiary: same as above

We have moved a few times since we got our green card approved a couple years ago. I submitted an AR-11 for change of request and got the confirmation, so I thought I was good. However, my parents got a letter today to remind us to submit the I751.
do I need to update my address again, or will simply mailing my form from my current address be enough

I can't send in my packet until Mid June, since the green card expires in September. However, we are planning a trip in November. The spouse will more than likely travel with an expired green card. How long does it take to get the receipt that will extend her Green Card?
Also, the letter is sufficient? I'm reading around and there's a mention of a stamp. are those the same things?
-
Our green card is about to expire in September, so we will get the documentation sent out in June. However, we are also planning an international trip in October.
1. for removing conditional status on the GC, what is the current time line? Assuming no issues, will we get the 10yr GC before our trip?
2. If it is still 'in progress' by the time our trip date arrives, can we still travel abroad with no issues? Anything we need to do?
3. As long as passport from original home country is still valid, we dont need an actual u.s passport to travel right?
-
thanks....just to make sure....this requirement is listed under the 'required evidence' section (#5). Is it not a true requirement?
-
we have been together in the U.S more than a year now and we are due to file the conditions removal in June (green card expires in sept). Looking over the evidence requirement, I'm actually nervous about this one:
".....Affidavits sworn to or affirmed by at least two people who have known both of you since your conditional residence was granted and have personal knowledge of your marriage and relationship. (Such persons may be required to testify before an immigration of cer as to the information contained in the af davit.) The original af davit must be submitted and also contain the following information regarding the person making the af davit: his or her full name and address; date and place of birth; relationship to you or your spouse, if any; and full information and complete details explaining how the person acquired his or her knowledge. Af davits must be supported by other types of evidence listed above. ...."
As weird as it might seem/not seem, we really tend to keep to ourselves, and so far, haven't really met or made any friends. We each have our individual co workers, but haven't all gotten together once. Right now, I can only think of 1 person/friend who has met us both and be a witness to our marriage, but besides that, that is it.
Is this going to be an issue? The only thing I can think of are family members, but would that be okay since they are relatives?
-
Her personal situation was the exact same as last time, and she did not have to show proof of personal ties. On her last visit, she was visiting a family friend, so she got an invite letter. This time around, she is flying back with us, so obviously that is not needed

We are in Hong Kong for vacation, and when we fly back to the U.S, the mother in law will be tagging along and staying for a couple weeks. She still has her 10 year tourist visa from about 3 years ago, and this will be her second visit to the U.S. She does r really have a payroll or proof of employment since her income comes from her kids. I am a U.S citizen, wife is green card. What's the chance of there being an issue once we land?
-
My green card holder wife has been in the u.s for 1 year now. She has steady income and we have a joint bank account. I was surprised when she tried to apply for a Gap visa and was denied. The letter mailed to us indicated insufficient credit history.
is the issue purely because she hasn't been in the u.s long enough, or do we need to do anything to get her some credit scores?
We try to avoid credit card payments as much as possible, but we do use the debit card to make payments.
I went ahead and added her as an authorized user in my card just so she can have her name on some of my stuff, but besides that, I don't know what else we can do.
How long does it usually take to get decent history?

we paid the $165 fee for our green card on July 17th, and when I called USCIS to check status, the lady said there was no tracking number. I asked again and she checked with someone else and said there is no tracking number.
She just said that in 45 days, call back and check if I haven't received it. I wanted to ask which address it will be sent to and she just said 'whatever address we put in..."
Is this correct? Is there really no tracking number? All I have is the payment confirmation tracking ID and agency ID number.
As for the address, which address does the card get mailed to? Does it get sent to the U.S address?
My wife is not in the U.S yet, but right now, she is living in another address, that is different from when we filed for the I130, and I'm worried the card will get sent to that address instead.
-
2 years is a long time. address can change, phones, and computers can change, so I'm trying to find the best way to remember to remove the conditions in about 2 years. Do you actually get an email sent to you, or do you remember it on your own?

The NVC collects the I-864 and makes a preliminary determination. The CO at your wife's interview has the final say on the I-864.
thanks. So the NVC makes the preliminary determination based on the poverty guidelines right? If so, what else can the CO consider to have a different say?
can a foreigner in the U.S get vaxed (and should they?)

Thanks all. It is for an elderly person and I just wasn't sure if "mixing" vaccine (either redo the vaccine or get a booster) will cause any harm, so very hesitant to go and just do it. That's why we just want to talk to a healthcare provider about this.
