    My interview was at 2 pm, but I wasn't called until about 3:10. Still made it to the last oath ceremony that day (I should mention that my interview lasted about 45 minutes), they actually started it late, around 4:50 to make sure everyone goes through.

    Hi all,
    Just wanted to update you all. I had my interview on Thursday (8/15), everything went smoothly. The wait to be interviewed was longer than the actual interview itself!
    Only bad thing was, the oath ceremony that day was being held at 10:45am :-( I was done with my inteview at 10:10am and the IO advised that they would be unable to fit me in as they needed an hours notice to process the certificates....I was gutted, although if I had got in at the 10:45am ceremony, then my family would not have been able to attend.
    Today I received an email advising that I am now in line for Oath Ceremony...Will you just hurry up already.....

    You should update your status with Social Security as soon as you become a citizen since you are now entitled to full social security benefits.

    Single and divorced are the same, but for legal reasons, different. Single means never-married. Divorced means married before. I'm not sure why it's important to specify it but you'll see it on a lot of forms. If you're divorced you need to tick divorced (unless there is no option for divorced).

    Whether or not you obtained your LPR through marriage or another route won't matter. You fulfill the criteria for naturalizing by being in the US for a total of 5 years or more. Even if you were an LPR candidate via marriage (like I was), as long as you aren't trying to use the 3 year waiver, USCIS doesn't care.
    You can file the N-400 without any hiccups. The application will ask you about your marital status; in your case, it's either divorced or separated. Include the relevant information on the form. If you don't have your divorce concluded at time of filing, bring a copy of the decree/certificate with you to your interview to provide to the immigration officer. It will be added to your file and your status will be updated there. Before you get your naturalization certificate, the immigration officer will have you review a form with your name, date and place of birth, marital status, etc. for completeness and correctness. That's the time you will flip your status from married to divorced.
    You may or may not have a question about the divorce. My officer basically confirmed the information was correct, and moved on. It's not likely to have an impact unless something spectacularly odd happened.

    I wasn't adjusting from K1...I came here on tourist visa,three years ago.My husband is a green card holder too,he has his naturalization test in april.My first application was approved in January 2011,but I didn't have Visa number available.So I waited and watched Visa Bulletin each month,and finally came in January and I applied for Adjustment of status.I waited for a long time,but I was with my husband the whole time,so it was worth it

    Ah I see. it is maybe different by state. In NJ, you have to prove legal status in the country everytime you need to renew. Back in the day, as a student i was not even allowed to have a normal state ID. only DL with proof of legal status. Then before got my GC , i first used my EAD for DL and they only gave me one year on it to match the EAD then with the GC it was fine (5 years ago).

    I don't know about the legal part, but it is a good question. If you must legally carry it, then how is that law being enforced. It is at the same time against constitutional rights for anyone to stop you in the street and ask for an ID (any ID), so how do they establish whether you are a citizen, resident, visitor or other if they are not allowed to ask for ID?? oh well, who knows.

    CA, I gave my EAD while getting license, and I got only 1 year for that license, I have to renew again.
    Also, not sure what they meant by carrying it all the time
    ..
    you're not breaking law by not carrying (in country), because I haven't heard of cops asking for legal status documents if they stop you for speeding...
    If I'm not mistaken, they are not supposed to inquire that. Homeland security are one of few who can ask that.
    and if homeland security is asking you to prove that, you will have time to get it from your residence/apartment/home before they believe that you're illegal..
    there are many illegal in this country, and they're actually breaking law... not you,
    Sorry if I sound rude, but I wouldn't worry about carrying it all the time....

    EAD - On March 28, 2013, we ordered production of your new card
    AP - On March 28, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I131 APPLICATION FOR USCIS TRAVEL DOCUMENT

    This morning both showed, "not found"

    for 2 years. up to 2015 March..
    Question: do i apply to remove condition 90 days before 2 years of marriage, or 90 days before the GC is going to expire?

    Hey guys!!!
    So last saturday Mar 23th my GC didnt arrived and it was supposed to arrive, the track# said so,around 7pm same saturday, I got the email/txt from USCIS the the USPS report that the address unknown. I was so upset!
    So yesterday Mar 25th I started calling the USCIS and the Post Office 1-800, to report it, the USCIS just told me that they will send a service request and they will contact me within 30 days. I was like , so then I called the USPS to get the phone # for my local post office so I called and I told the guy the whole story and the guy ask for the track# n he said WE HAVE IT HERE!!!! I was so happy, so he asked me Do u want me to send it back in mail? so I told him no thank you , I will be there in a few minutes to get it myself. Thank God I have my GC on hand. then I called back USCIS to let them know, I got it and also to cancel the service request.
    Tourist Visa(out of status for 12 yrs)- AOS
    01/03/13 sent I130.I485,I765 to chicago lockbox
    01/08/13 Email/txt acceptance conf.
    01/10/13 checks cashed
    01/11/13 got NOA1 for all 3 forms.
    01/12/13 got NOA Biometrics appt letter 01/30/13
    01/30/13 Biometrics done!
    01/30/13 Called NCS to change of address.
    02/04/13 got conf letter change of address
    02/12/13 got NOA Interview appt 03/15/13 at local office.
    03/12/13 got email/txt EAD approved Card in Production
    03/15/13 Interview at local Office APPROVED!!!!
    03/15/13 a second email/txt EAD card in production
    03/15/13 got email/txt I-485(green card) Card/document Production...
    03/18/13 EAD Mailed..
    03/23/13 got welcome letter and I-130 approval letter, But not GC and it was supposed to come.
    03/25/13 I got my GC!!!!!!

    On March 21, 2013, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.
    I guess it is official now. So excited !

    Just a Brief low down of my interview.
    Arrived at 8.15am
    In the interview by 8.20am
    Out by 8.40am
    It was a ver straight forward interview, asked us how we met, I explained we met at a summer camp here in California. He looked through our papers making things on pages as he went. I showed him pictures of us traveling in New Zealand and Europe. He asked to see our birth certificates, asked me the usual terrorist questions. Then told us he had approved our case. He didn't ask to see our marriage certificate or wedding pics.
    Really great experience I hope everyone else has the same luck.
