  1. its just a case of waiting, like everyone else is , and has done before you. its not "mind numbingly bad" its to protect their country against all threats foreign & national. Yes its heart breaking to be apart for 7 months, but that's just a small price to pay to then be able to live in a country doing its best to protect you from people getting in just to cause mass heartbreak.

  2. Congratulations!! I woke up in the UK this morning to the same email woo hoo!!

I screamed so loud my mum ran up the stairs thinking I'd had a heart attack or something lol!!

    Now for the next steps...

Re your second point, you're right in thinking you can schedule the medical after calling the DOS for the LDN case no, but make sure that the embassy has logged your case into their system as well so all the paperwork lines up. If you're too quick off the mark and the medical results turn up before you're in the system it could get a bit complicated...

Can't wait for my US fiance to wake up so I can tell him!!

I just saw your post!! congratulations to you too!! Somehow 4 little characters (NOA2) make life seem so much better :D

  3. Yes, I-134 is the affadavit of support but it is needed for London along with all the necessary documentation.

You are correct on your steps. Good luck!

Is the I-864 and the I-134 the exact same form? what should i do with it once iv filled it in, send it with the others, or take it to the interview? will it slow the process when it isnt asked for in packet 3?

  4. im assuming thats the affadavit of support, which for us is: I-864. this is straight form the london embassy website: "An I-864 is not required when applying for a fiancé(e) visa. An I-864 will be required at the time the fiancé(e) visa holder applies to adjust his or her status from nonimmigrant to conditional resident with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services(USCIS)."

  5. Ok, so i just got this email. I hope i'm right in thinking it's my NOA2 email:

*** DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS E-MAIL ***

The last processing action taken on your case

    Receipt Number: *hidden*

    Application Type: I129F , PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

Your Case Status: Post Decision Activity

On January 20, 2011, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

    now for the next steps,

Just going to double check i have this right:

    1. NOA2 goes to my finace's house in the US.

    2. I Call DOS after NOA2 to find out my LND case number so I can make a medical appointment.

    3. Make and attend a medical appointment.

    4. Then I call DOS weekly until they tell me that London has issued my "packet 3".

    5. Only then should I send in forms: DS-230 Part 1, DS 2001, Form DS-156, Form DS-157, Form DS-156-K.

    6. After my forms have been sent to London I should start calling DOS again to find out if my interview has been scheduled just in case they don't get the address right.

    thanks,

    Josh.

  6. Ok, so i'm expecting an RFE either this week or next asking for additional proof of our relationship. All we did was send photos.

My question is, when sending the proof, is it ok for it to be photocopies?

i have boarding passes, tickets to places, and a passport stamp.

Obviously i have to photocopy the passport stamp, but is it ok to photocopy the rest of the things, or do they have to be the originals?

    Thanks

    Josh.

  7. Just going to double check i have this right:

  8. Josh in the UK--

NOA2 goes to your lady's house in the US. You would eventually get something in the UK from the Embassy in London but that will be several weeks after she gets the NOA2. We call it getting Packet 3 but in the case of London, it isn't a packet at all--it's the website link I gave you. Royal Mail may or may not redirect it, but if you carefully read my post it explains what to do without ever receiving the letter. Yes, I think it will be fine as long as you fill out the new forms with the new address. But there's ways to check on it as you go via calling DOS (US Dept of State). Don't expect it will get forwarded. Call DOS after NOA2 to find out your LND case number so you can make a medical appointment. Then call DOS weekly until they tell you that London has issued your "packet 3". Only then should you send in your forms. Bookmark that website that has all you need to know about your part in London. After your forms have been sent to London (about 3 weeks) start calling DOS again to find out if your interview has been scheduled just in case they don't get the address right or forward. Your US fiance can do the calling too as long as she gives the USCIS case number and both your names and birthdates for security verification. Calling DOS is free. Calling the Embassy is 1.20 a minute from the UK or $16.00 from the US.

    Thanks!

  9. I know there are probably hundreds of these topics already open, but i was just wondering if it is really necessary to inform them of a change of address.

I'm the beneficiary and have moved house from when we received our NOA1. I have postal redirection so i wont miss anything that gets sent to my name at my old address, and the instructions on what to do on the USCIS website and VJ forums seem really confusing, so my question is, can i just leave it?

  10. Wow, this sounds like a plot in a Special Ops army movie, not what would really happen. Im sure no one here can realistically understand what you're going through. all we can do is offer any vague ideas we can think of. i agree with the first statement, theres not much we can really do for you, we arent professionals.

All i can think of is a few things you can do at home, online. as your on here, i can assume you have internet. check your phone history, check your mobile phone history, check email history, check your computer's IP history. Google him, and yourself, you might be surprised. check your bank account history, check where his cards were last used.

finally triple check your home for a note. anywhere it could have potentially blown to or fallen behind.

  11. As i see it, People on this site are the only people with any authority to discuss the pain of being apart. Your family and friends will try to comfort you, but the truth is, the situation is #######! we're all in it, we just have to sit it out. i applied on the 19th of August last year, and still waiting for NOA2 as well. im guesing you have about 1 month left from today.

  12. If you are nervous about not being able to get in why not fly through Dublin to the US. They have US customs at the Dublin airport itself so if you are denied then you won't be out of a very expensive plane ticket to get yourself back to England.

i dont care if i get sent back, what i care about is potentially screwing up my visa application, and not being allowed back into the US because they think i'm trying to cheat there system...when i'm not.

    Hi,

I am the beneficiary currently waiting for NOA2 in Australia. My fiancee was very keen for me to visit her in the US.

I don't believe that entering the US while your K1 is processing is impossible, but being knocked back at the border would be devastating.

I sent an inquiry asking this same question to US Customs and Border Protection and this was their response:

"Thank you for submitting your question to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Information Center. I am pleased to provide you with a response.

To answer your question, I would not advise that you attempt to enter the U.S. with your pending K-1 visa. It's extremely risky. If the CBP Officer suspects that you are a risk to enter permanently without completing the proper immigration procedures, he or she could deny you entry which would then effectively bar you from entering the U.S. This is a common occurrence and I honestly wouldn't recommend that you attempt to do so since you've gotten so far in the visa application process.

Feel free to contact us at (877) CBP-5511 or online at www.cbp.gov if you have any further questions."

I don't want to dampen your spirits, but it's very important to know the reality.

All the best with your journey (and thank God for Skype!)

This post is great, thanks!! think i might just give the visit a miss ;)

PS. i'm amazed your skype works, its aweful for us
