  1. So, I was recently diagnosed with a serious health issue that keeps me bed-ridden for another week (which means that due to boredom, you'll see me on here this week, at least during my bouts of consciousness).

So, because I am near death at the moment, can USCIS revoke my wife's citizenship, under the theory of, "Her applicaton was fraudulent - you knew you could get sick and die before filing for the K-1 visa six years ago, and you did it anyway. We're going to revoke her citizenship and send her back to Russia."

    What do you think?

  2. I mostly agree with you except that some years back my vote and that of about 70 other people here in Florida could make the Presidential race go either way.

You are under the mistaken belief that the public actually votes for the president in the U.S.

Nevertheless - you're talking about 70 votes, not one.

And besides all that, and most importantly, your argument implies an assumption that the person who holds the office of president actually has real significance to your life and general well-being. I would dispute that notion. Strongly.

Frankly - whether BHO, GWB or Daffy Duck is president, the results will be largely the same.

  3. How, exactly?

Honestly - if you believe that your "vote" matters one iota in U.S. politics, or that the democrats and republicans are fundamentally different in any material way, or any way that actually matters, there is nothing that can be said that will convince you otherwise. I'm not going to bother trying.
  4. completely untrue. These third parties get you a tourist voucher/invitation w/o which you cannot get a tourist visa.
    It's completely true.

You can get an invitation from a company without using them to get the visa, which you can get yourself. You do not need a "visa company" to get your visa.

  5. Any advices?
Yes. Avoid taking small children on planes - esp. during international trips - at all costs.

As for getting a visa - I've made 3 trips to Russia. Never used one of those companies. I wouldn't waste money on a third party. They can't do anything you can't do. Just send your stuff to the local consulate with the proper papers and money for fees. Follow instructions. Not rocket science here.

  6. definitely. this thread should be closed. you think it's bad here, you should see the china forum. not much discussion there, but everythign interesting gets closed thanks to a certain "crying baby".
I think the threads here get closed without even people complaining about them. Chalk one up for righteous indignation I guess.
  7. I think the deal is even us liberated-type females like to perpetuate the myth that we are too angelic and holy to even let go the tiniest parp, let alone a dump big enough to necessitate whipping out the loo brush. I pretend it is for my husband's use and weekly deep cleaning only. :innocent:
    I see.

Well, do you have any pictures of a wet and hairy pussycat? How about a shaved pussycat? How about three pussycats together? Got any of those?

If not, I'll settle for some pictures of your loo brush.

  8. I am Russian and as a Russian i can tell you that some Russians prefer to think that law doesn't work because a) it's easier to think that way and blame everything on that

    b ) for some people it's easier to try to bribe rather than to read and understand the law;

    c) they don't understand the consequences of bribing.. sometimes it's really easier to go legal way.

    ;)

but not going far away from the thread - the author i think doesn't even need to bribe anybody.

I've had Russian lawyers tell me flat out that it is their experience that if you want "justice", the only way to guarantee it is by paying an adequate amount of bribe. I'll take their legal advice (:
  9. Why do you keep giving strange advice while the solution is simple - they should go to a lawyer??
Let me tell you what every single Russian I've ever personally known has told me about Russian Law. "It doesn't work!!!" If you bribe the right person (such as a judge), you can get whatever you want.
Or you think you know Russian pshychology? Or you personnaly know that guy? Or his sister???
I think anyone will do anything for a sufficient amount of cash. The guy's SISTER has no legal standing. I'm willing to bet the guy can be bought off for fairly cheap - as do a number of other people who posted before I did.

But if he isn't, I'm sure some "third party" would, for a reasonable sum, be willing to "persuade" the guy to wear a pink tutu and call you "mommy" if that's what you wanted him to do. Would probably cost less than paying the guy directly too.

  10. A question: I know that there has to be parental 'sign off' before a child is allowed to leave the country. Her ex' has signed for the daughter, but not the son. He's willing to sign, but his sister who recently had a hysterectomy and has now lost any chance of having children, has decided for him that the boy needs to stay next to the family. Unfortunately the father is a living, breathing stereotype of Russian men, so he's pretty much doing what he's told for his next drink or fix...at least for now.
Oh come on. Do you really need to be told the solution to this? Pay the guy off and be done with it. Offer $1000 and be willing to go as high as you can afford.
