  1. If we decide to wait in GUZ to pick up the visa (if we get approved), where do we pick up the visa? Who/when do we tell we are going to wait in GUZ and pick up?

    Thanks,

    M & L

  2. Hello,

We have our interview on the 24th in GUZ. If we get pink, how long before we get the actual visa? Im trying to plan our return flight. Do we pick up in GUZ or will it be mailed to my fiancée in her hometown Nanjing?

    Thanks,

    Matt and Lili

  3. Thanks all

Bobby, yes I read your story about the false positive, crazy stress forsure.......My fiancee is going to the clinic in Shanghai to get her medical/shots done. She plans on doing this at least 10 days before the interview :) If we can ever get the P4/Interview date :( slow slow slow

    Matt

  4. Hi all,

We are very close to the P4/Interview and have questions regarding the medical. When my fiancee goes to the medical will she get all her needed shots/vaccines at this time? or are the vaccines done when she gets to USA?

  5. whoa hold the phone. Just her chinese passport may be enough to get in to China but as LBeachey said, for returning to the US it definately won't be enough. You certainly don't want to get caught out and have to go through the whole mess again as a CR-1. Get everything ready for the AOS package so she can't hit the ground running on arrival and you might be able to get a green card in time for christmas. Otherwise she will need Advance Parole in order to get back in to the US.

Just as the recommendation is to not make any plans in the US until you have the visa in hand, the same applies for travel plans after arrival until you have the green card in hand. The last thing you want is a big wedding to be cancelled because she can't leave the US and re-enter yet.

Sounds like a good idea. We will wait until we get green card in hand......Dont want more problems :)

    Thanks

  6. My fiancee will have her interview in Aug/Sep we think. Then, if we get pink, we will come to the USA and marry right away.

Question - We want to go back to Nanjing over Christmas and have a Chinese wedding too. What will Lili need to get back into China?

    Thanks in advance,

    Matt and Lili

  7. hi Matt,

We posted the P3 off on 6/15/2011 and got a P4 on 7/10/11. You can call DoS(Department of State)202 663-1225. Hit 1 when you hear the first recording and then 0 at the second recording, and you'll get a real person to help you.

You can also contact the GUZ consulate here:

    GUZ contact page

I think they have some sort of policy prohibiting the release of helpful information. They do give you some answer pretty quickly though.

    Great - Thx :)

  8. After you submitted your P3 to GUZ how long was your wait until you received the P4/Interview date? Is there a number I can call to get the interview date? or do we just need to wait for the P4 in the mail?

I am planning on flying to GUZ for the interview and the more advance time I have the cheaper my flight :)

    Thanks,

    Matt

  9. A friend in China told my fiancée we needed proof of engagement and to bring this to our interview. Is this true? What does GUZ need here? She already has a ring on her finger.

  10. Hello,

We are well into the process and now waiting for the P4 to be sent to my fiancee in China.

Question - I sold my house Wednesday and moved to a new address. Who do I call/email to provide my new address? Vermont Center? NVC in DC? Consulate in GUZ?

    Thanks,

    Matt

  11. ah - some good news then. I predict interview mid September, if you get the P3 in soonish.

Yes, thanks all. We are very happy (but not done yet, lol)......I think a Mid September interview too  P3 already completed and will be mailed tomorrow

  12. ya, the big thing is to 'Call DoS' - suggest 2 or 3 times each week,

until status changes to 'casefile opened', cause the very next status / timetick will be 'P3 sent', usually within a week of 'casefile opened'.

IMO, without the 'casefile opened' timetick, yer sending in a P3 set for a non-existent casefile to GUZ IV.

Where could they possibly put it? Is no physical casefile there, or opened, yet.

Sure, I know, SAFEFILE usage is important on this one, but if NVC used DHL, then you're in for a wait.

Set up DoS Hotline # on yer speed dial, suggest about 1 PM EST for yer calling time.

Excellent news today. I call my congressman Wednesday and explained the whole situation to him. He then made an official inquiry regarding my case. I don't know if this helped or just timing, but today we received an email from him and GUZ saying they received our file and sent the P3 to my fiancée already. We are doing the shortcut as suggested and will send back the already completed P3 back today (well tomorrow it's 1230am in Nanjing).........

  13. OP: Wait until the Consulate opens the file and indicates they have sent a P3 before you send a completed P3 back to the Consulate.

No need to wait until the P3 is received by your fiancee, following the shortcut is fine.

Yes, we are planning to use the shortcut. My question is can we send the P3 back now instead of waiting for them to tell us they have sent

P3 to my fiancée. Our file was sent from NVC to GUZ June 7th. We haven't received confirmation yet that they have received our hard copy of our file or that they have sent my fiancée the P3 yet. We pulled the P3 docs off the GUZ site and already have them completed.

What will happen to our P3 docs if we send to GUZ before they acknowledge they received our hard copy of file or that they sent the P3 to my fiancée? Will it be accepted or will they send back? And will this delay processing (if we send P3 back early)........I do not not want further delays, already dealt with RFE (my fault) and this delayed process by 1 month.

  14. Our hard copy file was sent from NVC to GUZ June 7th. They still havent received as of today.

We already have the P3 paperwork completed and we are just waiting to hear that the "P3 was sent to my fiancee".

Question - Instead of waiting for them to tell us the P3 was sent to my fiancee (and then we send back the P3 right away) normal shortcut........

What would happen if we mail the P3 docs back now? Will they just be sent back or will GUZ keep? Just trying to save some time.

If we send P3 docs back now will this in ANYWAY delay the process any longer? We do NOT want this to happen

    Thanks,

    Matthew

  15. Petitioner can do nothing at NVC to ensure that SAFEFILE solely is used for casefile transmission, sorry. There's no phone number to call, you can't request it via email, heck even if you tried to request it via fax, it won't work. NVC staffer somewhere makes the decision, IMO is also based on the caseload at GUZ IV as well (but I could be wrong) and also IMO, it depends on the complexity of the I-129F petition (someone's got to scan yer casefile, aye?)

IF SAFEFILE is solely used on your casefile (as opposed to DHL + SafeFile ) then burn some joss, you've been blessed.

I know yer looking at the bottom of http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/nvc_pilot_program_of_electronically_processing_visa_petitions.html#5

but (to the best of my knowledge) is not 100 percent SAFEFILE usage at NVC for I-129F petitions headed over to the Guangzhou IV unit.

    ---

for further tracking, keep calling DoS Hotline and inquire for casefile status --> http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/264972-shortcuts-when-checking-for-updates-from-the-nvc-and-dos/ (Find my post there, it contains important timeticks)

When you hear 'casefile opened' pay attention, as the Packet 3 will be sent out shortly, you can shave 2 to 3 weeks using this shortcut -> http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/GUZ_P3_Shortcut

Ha ha ha. You lost me bro........what the heck is safe file?

  16. The NVC electronic processing project for K visa (fiancée/spouse non-immigrant visa)

Can I do electronic processing for a Fiancee Visa? How? Will this speed up the process? or are we to late since we are already well into the process?

The hard copy of our file was sent to GUZ June 7th. Its July 11th (5 weeks) and they still havent received it. Most people on here (according to Timeline) show GUZ receiving their hard copy about 4-5 weeks after it was sent. Of course, the GUZ website says it may take up to 4 months for them to receive. Gotta love it!!!

    CCP

What is the process to formally quit the CCP? My fiancee submitted a letter in April to her boss stating she wants to terminate CCP membership. She hasnt paid any membership $ since.....

    CCP

That is actually humorous. While there is a process to formally quit the CCP, the easiest way is just to let the membership lapse by not paying dues.

    Check out this website:

    http//tuidang.epochtimes.com

Its says to quit the CCP fill out this form and it will provide a automated certificate showing the member has quit. I am assuming this form has no legality, correct? It is just a form stating a person has quit the CCP, right?

    CCP

My Fiancee found this document on the web. Is this a legal document? Anyone ever see this? When Lili calls the number is goes to a chinese woman living in NYC. I tried to call her and she said she speaks no english............Is this a scam to get $$$?

  17. for now, call once a week - check status - you are looking for 'casefile opened'

then when it's 'casefile opened', call every day until you hear 'P3 sent'.

    Gotcha.........Thanks Darnell.

  18. Embassy? NVC?

What about the DoS Hotline ?

Casefile sending and opening is a mixmash -

IF the casefile went out SOLELY VIA SAFEFILE, with no DHL shipment, then it'll go fast, within a few weeks.

IF the casefile was sent out via DHL, expect 2 to 5 months before GUZ IV will open the casefile. There's some bonded China Government Warehouse Operation where Embassy Pouches for Immigration Visas are held/delayed. see http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/iv_faqs.html#B3

Maybe I said the wrong terms, embassy, nvc, consulate........Anyhow, I called the number you suggested today 202-663-1225. I then pressed 1 then pressed 0 and talked to a human. He was located in DC he said. He said the paperwork/file was sent to GUZ June 7th but they have not received yet. I should call back everyday and ask if GUZ received the paperwork/file and when the P3 was sent to my fiancée - correct? When GUZ tells us they sent to P3 to my fiancée we should mail in the ds230 and of169 immediately - correct?

Wow, is it currently taking 2-5 months for GUZ to receive the paperwork/file? Ugh!!!!!!!!
