  • Our Story
My parents went to a Dude Ranch in the summer of 2002. They liked the ranch so much, that they asked the manager of the ranch if their daughter could come up there to ride horses and learn english. Sure enough, they said yes. So I went up there on July 18th, 2002. The first couple days I felt a little alone, but Doug (the head cook from the ranch) was always there for me to show me around. First he was just nice and I really appreciated his way of taking care of me.
One night we went camping and that night he stole my heart. It sounds like a super trashy lovestory, but it's true.

First we thought we were only dating for the summer, but when the summer ended we knew, we would see each other again. I had to go back to Utah, where my family lived for one year (military exchange program) and Doug stayed in Montana. It was five hour drive, so we visited each other often.
In January 2003 I had to leave Utah, but before I left the US, Doug and I travelled cross country to Atlanta and visited his parents. In February 2003 I really left the States.

So 5 months went by with talking on the phone almost every day and writing mails till we finally met each other again. We never broke up in that time. It was the opposite: We grew together even stronger. Especially our love. For three weeks I visited him in Montana and the day that I arrived, he proposed to me. He was on his knees and had a bunch of red roses. VERY romantic!

In October 2003 he came to Germany for three months. Wow, I am a lucky girl. In January 2004 he had to leave. By that time we already made the wedding invitations together. We knew this was the last time that we had to say goodbye to each other. As you can read in our timeline, we got approved lately and now everything is working towards the wedding. I am very excited and we both can't wait to be in each others arms again. On June 28th, 2004 it'll happen! Our wedding will be on August 8th, 2004 at the Ranch, where everything began...
