  1. We received our interview letter last Friday, the interview is May 14th at the Portland office. So no transfer for us. I was looking at the list of "what to bring" good grief! The same stuff we submitted with the K-1 and AOS, how many times do they need the same info? I have a great idea though, imagine if the USCIS had computers? It would be so cool, they could enter the data in the first time and they would already have it. :bonk:

Sorry, in truth I am just glad my wife is here and we are together, I will never forget waiting for that NOA #2 for the I-129 that was crazy.

Oh, I did forget the funny part of the "what to bring" list for the AOS interview, "me" she has to bring me to the interview, wow, for the first time, I am involved!!

Congrats on the date :) We have a friend in Texas who had her interview on Monday. She said they asked her 2 questions: Is your name really ____? and Is this your correct address? She received her Green Card in the mail the NEXT DAY!! We can only hope to be so lucky lol. Also the green card is valid for 19 months as opposed to the 2 year.

  2. Had an RFE asking for Blake's taxes (we sent in this years and last years, to be safe) a few weeks ago, and today we got a letter saying our case was sent to California. I hear this means we might not have to do an interview? I hope that's the case! Still waiting on EAD, feeling a little lost about when things will be happening and what's coming up, but that's my own fault for not doing my research really. I wish I had filed for AP, it's stressing me out that I still can't visit Canada, but oh well. Eager to move forward more.

    Wedding in 53 days :)

We had a similar RFE for taxes a little depressing but at least we are back on track. Hopefully the transfer to California is a good thing for you both. Here's hoping.

  3. I'm kind of lost here the aos packet states that another medical isn't required if the k1 beneficiary arrived with-in the last 12 months, but then it goes on to state form I693 is required.

How can anyone fill out this form accurately if during the medical exam the required vaccines were put into a sealed envelope and giving to the uscis?

any information would be greatly appreciated, thanks

The beneficiary is given the sealed vaccines records which shows what shots were given during their medical in their country. He/she may not need a medical. But if their shots were not complete they will need to see a CS to get the missing shots and have them transcribed into the I-693.

It's really up to you. I have heard of some people simply sending in the attached DS-3025 and not having a problem. (They peeked at the DS-3025) I myself wanted to be safe so we went to a Civil Surgeon since they are designated by the USCIS to look at the forms and complete any paperwork necessary for the packet. Hope this helps.

  4. Thanks Barbie, I know I will have fun. I always do but this time it is different because I have a chance to do more then ever before. Oh wow so you have never been to Haiti, despite what you see in the news it really is a wonderful place and the people know how to party regardless of the reality.

Yes I agree with you 100%. I tried to watch the Oprah special about Haiti with my husband and was so turned off. He kept asking why are they showing only. The worst of Haiti on tv.

  5. Don't use the term "illegal alien" there is a huge legal difference between illegal alien" and "out of status." I am looking at filing as "head of household" that seems to be the best I have seen so far. I was hoping to claim my wife as a dependent but it looks like that can not be done.

Oh I agree with you on the term "Illegal alien". Our partners are not illegal aliens. I should point out though that these were not my words. I simply researched on the turbotax website and this was the closest I could find to our present status/situation. Overall I'm just looking forward to filing and learning about how our new Marrital status effects us all this year.
