  1. Hello VJ family

I am about 2 months late with updates. First just wanted to say Congrats to all the approvals!!. VJers always do it best. Sorry to those with RFEs. Those are always a pain to deal with. Stay positive guys you are almost at the finish line. Also my hubby got approve in March 3/24/15 with card in the mail by 3/30/15.

Thank you all for the sense of community and support.

I don't know if we are still updating but we were approved on 3/34/15

  2. Hello September filers

I am a little late but I've been trying to log into vj for a couple days now and I'm just now able to login again and reply. We sent out our package on September 11th priority mail 2 day with tracking. Our NOA date on the receipt is 9/15/2014. Can someone add us to list?

    NOA: 9/15/14

    Our list included

    -health insurance cards copies

    -bank card copies

    - car insurance copies of notices (joint)

-tax returns for 2012 and 2013 filed jointly

-new car contract showing joint ownership w/pictures of us and car

    -bank statement for joint account

-receipt for mini vacation in Atlantic city w/pictures

Looks like the NOA 1s are coming pretty quickly.

  3. Hi guys

Glad to be back. We are planning our packet for ROC. I think for us we will be filing between Dec and Feb. Looks like it will just be the 3 of us for now.

I was looking over the ROC guide for more info. My husband said that we should we receive a letter notifying us when to file (a friend told him this). But I haven't seen or heard anything about that. Has anyone heard of letters being sent out?

    Talk to you all soon

  4. Hi all,

Just checking in, seeing how things are going for everyone. I am still amazed at how long it took to get used to being here. I am not at all convinced I am totally used to it. For the first year my poor husband heard "I wanna go back to Canada", with him of course, probably every other week or so. My adjustment to life in the USA has/had nothing to do with my husband, I know he loves me and I love him. It is simply just very different here. I may of said it 3 more times this past year, but I try hard not to say it cause I now know that it makes him sad. The good news is that I am finally working in a job in my field and I really like it a lot. Like some others I have been thinking of the ROC task. I know that I can file in March. I need to read more about it, for example, is travel outside of the USA restricted at that time? I also think it is kinda of annoying that we first pay a fee for ROC and a year later we are eligible to naturalize, yet another fee! Any thoughts on naturalization or is everyone just concentrating on one step at a time? Will we create a thread on the ROC forum to support each other through this next step?

I hope everyone has a beautiful day and enjoy those beautiful Decemberite babies!

    Lise

    Hello all

Congrats to all the decemberite babies!!!! My husband had a similar experience adjusting. It's hard being away from your entire support system from back home. Working, driving, and friends have helped. I think what helped him the most was by older brother coming home from deployment in Afghanistan. They hit it off pretty well. Also he visited family earlier this month (without me) I wanted him to just enjoy being home with just the family. ROC has been on our minds it is creeping upon us and we've been talking about what kind of proof to include. I'd be happy to continue a Decemberite ROC support thread for anyone else looking to start the ROC process. What do you guys think? Any takers?

  5. Okay, USCIS is apparently showing us a lots of attention today.

Was just having dinner with wife and a few close friends and we received 2 more SMS messages:

Oct 10, 2012 10 PM EDT: Update. checked case and now our case status went from "Card/Docu,ent Production" to "Decision"

Later at 10:15PM we received another update SMS. This time the status remained the same at "Decision"

Seems a bit strange the status is regressing but I think the first status might have been a fluke update as they still need to send us a Welcome Notice yatta yatta yatta.

A word of advice to others who are waiting. File a service request, then get your congressman and senators involved as we did.

I'm sure the turnaround will be quicker this wa

    regards,

Ami&chigs my husband just check his case status this morning and it also said green card in production!!!!!!!!! We are so excited! Its funny that our situation was very similar to yours and we are getting the final approval the same time. Thank you for making this thread for people going through the aos transfer process. Congratulations to you and your wife. :) aps

  6. I think every relationship is different. It is definitely a big adjustment but I want to suggest a book I picked up to help me better understand and navigate the common issues that come up. This book has been a huge help: It's called The Promises and Pitfalls of Intercultural Marriage by Dugan Romano. It talks about everything from finances, in-laws, raising children and more. Wish you luck through this process.

  7. Thank you!

    Congrats Pretty sunshine!!!!

Congrats to all who are getting approved... My wife's AOS timeline is similar to that of shendon and mattcarolina...

Hope and praying to god that we get approved soon.

I started this thread as a haven for those who got transferred and we're sitting around trying to realize where their application is...

Probably the best thing I've done here... Hope it continues to serve as a discussion thread for those trying to get through their respective AOS processes.

    Thanks

    Chigs

We are right there with you we sent ours in the same month and year as you still waiting.

  8. I hear your frustration! My AOS RFE was simple, they needed a signature (not sure how or if I missed it to begin with). I responded the next day, sent regular post with confirmation of receipt. It was soon after that I got notified of my approval. I was really nervous then because it meant traveling to Canada with my advance parole. Hopefully you will get your notice this week and have it back on its way to USCIS. I wonder if anyone from our group is waiting??? Anybody from our group have anything interesting going on??? Any luck with job hunting. My MA degree is not getting me anywhere...frustrating for sure!

    Have a nice day Decemberites!

    Lise

    Hi Lise

Have you had your Diplomas and degree's evaluated? I know that may be helpful when getting work. I know of two major places there is Educated Choices and WES-World Education services.

  9. You should now see something with in the next couple of weeks when we recieved this we got our green card with in a couple of weeks. If you want some one more to investigate it try this some one had told me try them actually I did then with in a hour I got the text message stating card was in production (coincidence or this guy is just really awesome...??)

This link looks very helpful thanks for sharing it with us.

    Card/ Document Production

On August 29, 2012, we mailed the new card directly to the address we have on file. You should receive your new card within 30 days. If you do not, or if you move before you get it, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

This step applies to applications that result in an applicant receiving a card (such as a "green card") or other document (such as a naturalization certificate, employment authorization document, travel document, or advance parole). Applications will be in this step from the time the order to produce the card/document is given until the card/document is produced and mailed to the applicant. You can expect to receive your card/document within 30 days of the approval of your application.

    Thank you, Jesus!!!!

    Congrats to you both!!!

  10. Same story with us. Receipt date was December 14, 2011 and transferred to CSC January 6, 2012. I got my EAD and my biometrics done months ago and haven't heard anything since. I called the customer service line a month ago and they said that they were processing applications from November 29, 2011. I just called again today and they told me that it was the same date they were processing. Pretty frustrating, but there's nothing we can do. Haven't even had our wedding reception yet because I can't go back home.

  11. Hello all

Just thought I'd join the chatter as I am in the same boat as you all. It is frustrating because there is really no way to know what is going on.

I found this will looking for answers on VJ.

6.11)...What should we do during the time we are waiting for the Adjustment of Status interview?

A..Begin building your new life in the United States. Your EAD, Social Security number and passport (until you get a drivers license for identification) give you the means to get nearly anything you want, except a cup of coffee and the right to vote. Get to really know your new wife or husband. Get a job. Set up a joint checking account. Go exploring. Get a library card. Meet the relatives. Make new friends. Start up a new business. Try to shake off old ways of thinking about "how things are done", because things are going to be different.

  12. Hi All,

I'm creating this thread because I feel there are others out there in a similar situation and who can also use the comfort of the support of others.

So please use this space to tell us your story since your case was transferred.

I'll start with my self for example.

My wife and I filed AOS/EAD/AP in February, of which the EAD and AP have been approved and received. Our case was transferred to CSC in March 2012 and we are now waiting for our sign.

In the meantime we try to pass the time by watching movies, going out with friends, going to family gatherings, exploring local cuisine, etc.

We're in the process of going to have her name changed with the SSA and then the DMV. Hopefully we can have her driving in no time. She's also starting looking into universities to see what would be good for her. She's put up her resume and is actively speaking with recruiters who to narrow down job opportunities that suit our needs.

Basically lots of things are moving, but we're just really waiting for the AOS to be approved. That would really give her the the go ahead with respect to university admissions. We don't want to rush anything but, it would be nice to have this process done and behind us so that we can look onto the things beyond this administrative process.

I know its there are others who have been waiting longer and I mean for this thread to be a support for us all.

    Please join us.

    Thank you.

    Chigs

Hi Ami&Chigs I am glad you started this thread. Was beginning to feel alone in the process. How does the dmv in your state operate with our spouses since they don't have their GC yet? Here in jersey they gave us the hardest time just to get a State ID all because my husband did not have his GC. We were a little turned off but it. Did they accept the EAD card?

  13. rfe says they lost my sealed envelope, so, i have to get all my medical redone, i just paid 250 for medical, vacination transcripts and tb test... i hate this process, how that can be possible? they loss my things and don't even say sorry, and i took them 8 months to tell me. damn them

Sorry to hear that setherwyn :( That's terrible :o the DS-3025 is so hard to get. There's got to be some way they can help. After them losing a medical I'd send it certified mail.
